Yes, its Pop, not Soda, not Cola but Pop.  Only the darkest, most mystereous pops need apply for this poll (we can tackle the great Dew, Mello Yellow, Fresca debate another day).

Time always wins.

Sorry about the HUGE picture. But it honestly does deserve attention. The best soft drink ever created, and I don't even know what the hell it tastes of.

My preferred pop:
Idris - Ginger Beer packshot
this is okay, but stupidly expensive:

and for the Linux fans:
UBUNTU COLA

What?

Ginger beer (not ginger ale) with some dark rum (dark and stormy) is a wonderful cocktail . Big smile
Wonderful spiciness to ginger beer.

I'm going to attribute the lack of votes for Jones Soda to ignorance, in which case I excuse you all.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal.

Yeah, Ginger Beer only gets dark when you add some dark rum to it. LOL
So considering your criteria, I'm going to have to go with SpriteTongue
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Pepsi Max............ ( Gut Burner). I know, not good but normal soft drink I never drink its just too much sugar and Pepsi Max is better than Diet coke which tastes like it was made at Union Carbide. Pepsi Max though I can only take so many before the chemicals start burning my guts.

I will add down here in summer you can wind up drinking the stuff all day which is not advisale as for the reason I gave above.

We do not have a lot of the soft drinks listed above but I do like Ginger Beer  (Oz Brand)which I buy occasionally and to be honest if I am really thirsty I stick with water or soda water. I am really over drinking coca-cola and Pepsi  seems to be on the wain as well for me.
Matt

Dr. Pepper any day for me.

By the way, it is definetely soda, not pop. You mid-westerners you....

I'm going to search and see if there's a poll on that. If not, expect one in the resuming minutes.

yep, there are some delicious microbrews in the northwest

the Dr. is winning?  I'm surprised though I'm a long time fan.  I remember a delicious brand of gingerale called Vernors which I'd mix with cream, great combination

^I'm surprised as well. As far as I know, outside of the United States Coke is pretty much the greatest thing ever. I was surprised in my few travels to find only coke products in other countries, and the exchange students at my school only order Coke.

In the UK "Coke" is the generic name for all Cola, even Pepsi - same as Hoover is the generic name for a vacuum cleaners, even if it's a Dyson or Electrolux. The Coke-Cola corp. fought against this generalisation of their trade mark and won the legal battle, but didn't convince any of the British buying public, who still call all colas - coke.

this is a famous British coke cola:
...and most supermarkets have their own brand, some of which is actually very good:
