I've like Pentangle.

The guitar playing is amazing.  Bert Jansch and John Renbourn are fantastic.  Danny Thompson is great on double bass and Jacqui McShee is a great vocalist.

I've not heard a whole album though.

Plus I love the jazzy bits they put in songs such as Sally Go Round the Roses.

Dude, they're a folk band.  Most folk bands back then covered old songs.

That reminds me, I need to buy both of their albums.

I've only heard their debut so far. Cry  Which is excellent, I might add.

I think this one is better, but I have to hear the debut again to confirm that.  Definitely a band that needs a lot more plays.

But is the album prog? (I think I answered that in my review)

I've just been reminded of something whilst watching something on television.

Bees are on the decline in the UK.  I do not know whether this is the case in the U.S. but I know Patrick is going to be inhumane and get rid of his Carpet Bees. Cry

Bees that fly around, pollinate flowers, and make honey are OK to stay around my place.

Bees that eat my house have to go.

I've never heard an official album, only a Best Of album so I cannot fully answer that question.

They're more jazz folk that prog folk.  It's a tough one.  I'd be inclined to agree with you though.

They may well be making honey and pollinating flowers as well though. Ermm

Now ants and wasps, I don't care what you do with them. LOL

I have given 5 stars to many albums that are obviously not prog. Until there is no clear site policy, I am NOT going to give less to an album I consider a masterpiece just because it's not prog. I'm sorry, but if people want to make things clear, they have to make clear rules.

I apologise for the belligerent tone, but I'm mad as hell... Some piece of manure insulted me (without having the guts to use my name) in the Dire Straits thread, and of course no one noticed. I'm really hanging by a thread here...

I have a feeling that the claims of suggestions going unheeded is exaggerated, but you never know.

Apologies Pat, I'm just a pacifist when it comes to things like that.  Unless it's ants or wasps. LOL

Raff, I've just read the post you're referring to.  I think Fernando is just frustrated (and rightly so) for having so many of his recommendations ignored (if that is indeed the case).  It's happened to me before as well.

I think calling him a piece of manure is a tad strong though but I do understand your frustration as well.  You have worked hard for P.A. and people seem to not agree with many of your additions.  If you had added less popular bands, I doubt many people would even notice.

I have added a band I am not not sure about but because very few have heard them but I have yet to hear anyone mention that they don't think they're suitable.

Or maybe they are prog and I am just confused about my own addition now because my ears are more used to strangers sounds.

And I am not against any of your additions either, I have to say that.

I am afraid I don't understand what you mean, Pat... Are you referring to that person's claim?

Yes - I don't think things are as dire as he says, although we're not 100% perfect....maybe he's just unlucky, I don't know.

I have a bias against bugs - other creatures around the yard I'm happy to have live in peace, although my wife is decidedly unhappy with the rabbits eating the lilies before they have a chance to grow.  Ouch
