My wife is friendly with a couple girls at work, we've been out with them and their husbands a few times. But on the whole we don't have many people with whom to socialize with. Our neighbors on both sides are older folks, retired...very nice people, but it'd be nice to meet some younger people with kids. We're friendly but we are a bit shy, I suppose, and we keep to ourselves to some extent. That'll probably change once my children start getting involved with school and associated activities.

I have several lifelong friends that, honestly, if I said "someone murdered a member of my family," they'd literally be up in arms. But we don't speak often anymore. It's distance and life...

They're playing tonight in DC, but we're going to miss them because this week Micky is on call. I am not feeling very hot either, so I suppose we'll have to wait until the next time they hit these shores  . However, on June 8 we're going to see The Decemberists, and two weeks later it's NearFest for us!
