I didn't find it the least bit surprising that Frank Zappa was taken immediately with him after catching a show of his in London in the early 70's and was a big fan of his. |

I'm so very happy we have turned you on such a wonderful artist (who would be much better known if he was from an English-speaking country). I remember when I went to see him live with a group of friends of mine... it was the early Eighties, when he had started releasing 'poppier' albums, and I was not very enthusiastic at the idea of going to that gig. Well, when I came out of that theatre, I was well and truly converted... I have a couple of friends in Italy who are big Battiato fans, and they were so happy to know that my significant other had become a fan too. |

Searched and couldn't find anything about it in the team thread. Will bring it there for (re)evaluation. Thanks Andrea. |

Hi,
because of various personal problems (but not only) Mandrakeroot retired from PA.
It is now active in 1967/ 1976 which is the same person but using a different approach with PA. |

The debut album of the Italian band ABSENTHIA is now available. You can get it directly from the band on their official website. On the player that you can find on the official website and on myspace you can listen to their music, so have a try! Official website: http://www.absenthia.it/ Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/absenthia The band is not included in PA yet. This is the old thread in the unsigned bands section: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/search_results_posts.asp?SearchID=20090521044525&KW=absenthia |

I have gone crazy on Battiato,if you did not notice its all over my most used thread Anyway just like to say what a wondreful artist and so interesting. I like all his styles whether its prog, arabic, pop or opera. That last song L"Oceano di Silenzo from Fisiognomica is gorgeous with the rest of the album. Ordered another 4 albums. This an artist I had never heard of till I arrived here and saw Mickys avatar and thought it must be a bloody good album if he is using it for an avatar and did not dream I would wind up with double figures in the amount of albums I own now.

Hi guys, I bought Delirium's Il Nome del Vento and listened four times already.
In my opinion it is a strong release () but not a masterpiece.

Attention RPI lovers! Wayside Music just posted many RPI albums at great prices (most at $9). There are many 70s bands (Il Giro Strano, Alphataurus, Fabio Celi, Celeste, Museo Rosenbach, Corte dei Miracoli, Banco, Enzo Capuano, Pierpaolo Bibbo, Area, Arti e Mestieri, Biglietto per l'Inferno, Campo di Marte, Opus Avantra, MO.DO, Murple, etc, as well as some I'd not heard of before) and some second wave RPI (Finisterre, La Maschera di Cera, A Piedi Nudi). Most titles are not the artists' most familiar recordings, and most are jewel cases editions (not the Italian mini LP); but nevertheless this is a great way to inexpensively flesh out your collection. Happy hunting!
P.S. Most of these appear to come from Mellow records. I wonder if they've lowered their prices or are (gasp) going belly up. Or maybe this is just a Wayside sale.
