A 13-year-old kid with cancer doesn't have the luxury of time for his dumbass parents to be educated.

In many instances I agree with this.  I don't think that the government should be able to tell me that I have to wear a seatbelt.  If I am dumb enough to take the chance of being thrown out my windshield I should be allowed to.  Same goes with motorcycle helmets.  But again I am an adult and I should be able to make that decision on my own.  On the other hand, I shouldn't be able to allow my child sit in the front seat without a seatbelt on because I am an idiot.  That is child endangerment.

It's not that I don't see the other side of the argument, it's just that it becomes really subjective and hard to pick out each individual case when it comes to child endangerment.

I clearly think the sunburn thing is ridiculous, much more so than the cancer case. I think seatbelts are a tricky issue because that's a matter of life and death in certain emergencies---and I think if an adult doesn't want to wear one, fine. Having a child properly strapped in a seat though is a good thing.

If chemotherapy was better, I'd feel much more confident in that... but it still doesn't seem right to me to force parents to have a child evaluated for taking chemo purely based on the subjective opinion of someone else. They say whether it'll be necessary or not, and then the parents HAVE to oblige, and that doesn't seem right.

It's much more common sense that a child could die in a car accident, and it's a different scenario.

I don't either, but that's because I'm a skeptic.

Why not just kill everyone? No people alive? no more people to get cancer. I've said this before, but it is a flawless plan.

When's the last time you saw a corpse complaining of cancer? How many dead children ever came up to you begging for food?
