So far, I've only heard Bath and their new one, but I would agree. And I love KD.

Actually, Catharsis of Sea-Sleep and Dreaming Shrines is also amazing.  Especially the trumpet part.

Well, GC is fairly removed form black metal. At least what I've heard. LODDOD is post metal in an epic scale, acoustic verses is haunting, and Everything else I have heard is solid thoughtful metal.

Well one of the members of the band is from a Black Metal background, I believe.  I know they're not Black Metal but thought they might have a few elements here and there.

That title reminds me of Salmond Rushdie. LOL

I do need to check them out though.  I will check out some Black Metal at some point too.

Try starting out with The Mantle by Agalloch James. Pretty mellow post-rocky sounding black metal. Shouldn't overwhelm you.

Acoustic verses is amazing. Parts of it are akin to motW. I'd say it comes off as a mix between the light side of motW, and Pink Floyd DSOTM era.

I have that one on CD.  I'm familiar with Ashes Against the Grain and really enjoy it.  I think I've heard The Mantle actually.  I must play it again and refamiliarise myself.
