I like all the songs off that album.
The first two albums were more hit and miss though.
The next step is to hear Colors, their last album they did. Best they have done so far, and my favorite release of 2007 too.
More experimental and quirky moments, better musicianship and they seem more sure of themselves too.

Medicine Wheel is also excellent.  Post-rocky in places.

So you don't rate "The Anatomy Of"?

Oh wait... The Anatomy Of has covers of King Crimson and Pink Floyd.  Oh and Queen, apparently. Confused

To be honest I didn't like The Anatomy Of much. I much prefer their original material to their covers.

They still sell it? Shocked

Hopefully it's the DVD version.

I don't officially own it.  I own some of the CDs.  Some have broken.

They are, yes. Don't remember who added them, although the last bio update for BtBaM was done by me.

Still not hearing the PT, and I've heard this stuff at least 50 times.

Is TD entirely instrumental throughout their career or do any of their albums have vocals?

They're mostly instrumental. Some albums have vocals... like Cyclone, Tyger, and the La Divina trilogy. I think there are some other sparse vocal moments.

They're rarely vocal, yes. Cyclone was heavily controversial because of this, but every TD connoisseur actually agrees that the album kicks ass, and the lamentation over under 10 minutes of vocalisation is aberant, once Madrigal Meridian starts.

La Divina Commedia is very well-conceived too, vocal-instrumentally. Perhaps only Paradiso is a bit lackluster (in everything, but vocals more than ever).

Alpha Centauri has voices on it.

Ah, yes, that's right, but it was the krautrock stoned type of chanting anyone could accept. Cyclone featured typical vocals, with someone singing on the band's sequences and stuff.

Some would say that even Atem had vocals, with all that growling in the tiny last piece, Wahn . Wink

I haven't gotten into PT. How are they in relation to Rush? This is coming from a lukewarm casual rush fan, at best. (I can only hope my head fits on that pike rather nicely...)
