Uriah Heep are good though. Not one of my favorites, but still decently good. My favorite album is probably Demons and Wizards.
You got the Heep, but not the Purps!?
Anyways, glad you like Heep at least
I'm an absolute Deep Purple n00b. I figure I'll get an album one day, but they have never really attracted me at all. I'm not into that sort of music as much as I used to be, and even then I was never too much into Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, etc.
When it comes to the heavier stuff, I like Rush, Porcupine Tree, Mars Volta, etc. If I do ever get one DP album though, which do you think I should get?

It seems you prefer the guitar-oriente heavy stuff, rather than organ-oriented heavy stuff...
ONE?! Come on Alex, you know that's an impossible answer, it's if I were to ask you which album of Rush should I buy, but I'll buy only one...
Hmm... Have you heard the different singers? At least Coverdale and Gillan? If so, which do you prefer It makes it a lot easier...

Hmm... maybe... Never thought about it that way.

Haha, that's true. Okay. Where should I start?

I have no idea, haha.
I would say like Finnforest said, Made in Japan, it captures their whole live hype, and a good bunch of classics are there. Not sure if the double-disc is expensive or not, or the other way round, the single-disc, though. Buy the cheapest, they're really the same

^sure, no problem! I'll have to ask you which Tangerine Dream to start with, some day
I've saw them in a music store which is really quite the basics, and it really surprised me. Though there weren't much, 2 or 3, though from the cover I can re-call that they were quite the classics they name here

Tangerine Dream is kinda tough because they have 50+ albums and it depends on the person entirely on which introductory album would be better.
I could try though, haha. Some albums are usually more universally representative (Phaedra, Rubycon, Stratosfear, Force Majeure) than others.
