What was it?
|
About my colleagues at the Conservatory rioting.
|
Why?
|
Because they found out today that missing from more than 50% of some courses (which were declared optional at first) will deny their access to examns.
And more than 50% of the students from year I didn't bother much at all with school.
|
Yeah, that's bullsh*t. Can't change the rules in the middle of the game.
|
They changed it because of the first semester, when the exam results were catastrophical in many student's case. The same students just didn't pay attention to the warning regarding the new rule, and did the same thing they did months ago: nothing.
|
Well that's a bit different - if they mandated attendance between semesters, saying "From this point forward you need to attend at least half the classes" - then the students have only themselves to blame. I was going off something that a professor I had tried to pull - mid-semester, all of a sudden trying to claim that attendance would factor into the grade, when at the beginning of the course there was no such claim. In fact I barely showed up and he wanted to fail me, even though I was getting passing grades on all the exams and problem sets. Me and a couple of other guys just went to his office and called bullsh*t, and he relented, realizing we would just make his life a hell if he went through with it.
|
The blame goes to both sides, in my opinion. Some teachers, after the semester, officially announced every student to snap out of their lazyism and attend the classes and get all the grades, but there's wasn't an official overall rule, at least at the beginning of the semester. Gradually though, it has become clear that no contribution and no interest in those vital courses will result in not getting accepted into the exam. So that's why the students that came out of nowhere after three months (or attended poorly) felt burned today.

mmm falafel Yeah, Piirpauke was very good. I'll have to see if I can hunt down a proper album from them instead of the compilation I have. From your country, though, my favorite is definitely Höyry-Kone. Topi Lehtipuu is such an unbelievable vocalist.

The teachers screwed up by changing the game and the students are part to blame because they should have taken the initiative to come anyway. I mean, what they're complaining about is due to their own decisions.

It's sort of crazy, isn't it? At least the font is different, but I swear the colors are identical.

Green is good, but blue is better. And that sounds good to me! I actually will have to do that soon as well, especially because I'm home alone for a while today.

Yeah, it is. Out of all the possible tints or shades you could have picked, you two just happened to pick the same ones.

Huono Parturi That's a mindblowing album, but I'm not very fond of their debut. I had to borrow them from local library and save them as mp3's since they just aren't available anywhere... Huono parturi will possibly make it to my this year's Ultimate Album List thingy, I hadn't really got into it the last time I made the list.

I'm going to join in on the love for that album. I need to hear it again; it's been a while.

When I look at them very closely I think I see that Pat's colours are a bit darker, by the tiniest wee little margin. Still that's pretty damn well

Now that I'm exactly 999 posts away from Harry's post count, I'm beginning to realize that it's just a matter of time before I become the most active poster on the entire forum.
