Alex, thanks for the Absent Lovers reminder, I bought it last weekend and liked it pretty much on the first listen today Smile

No problem! Glad you liked it. Clap

Ah f**king hell... Angry I'd written a long story about hearing USA before Larks' Tongues in Aspic and how the studio songs still feel pretty lame compared to their live counterparts still all these years later, but then I managed to erase the whole thing. But yeah, now that I'll probably end up buying Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair pretty soon, I fear that the same thing might happen with Absent Lovers and those albums, if AL is so much better as I remember you saying.

Surprisingly I much enjoyed the AL versions of Red and Larks II with the electronic drums and all Smile

The studio albums are good too, but I just have to treat them separately. The Neal and Jack and Me DVD is even better than Absent Lovers. Clap

I absolutely love that lineup.

If you want something more minimalistic, go with Zeit. Not sure if you'd want that or not though.

Well, not in the conventional/musical sense, I think. The Doors were essentially a roots rock/pop rock/blues rock (at different times) band which brought in half a million psychedelic elements but still kept very much in touch with the visceral essence of rock. I hadn't really thought of them as self-indulgent, for some reason, combining alcohol/drugs with rock music isn't self-indulgent LOL, and The Doors aren't often particularly obtuse or difficult to understand.

That's a pretty good argument.

But still, self-indulgent doesn't mean bad. Wink

*panting*

I delivered some crap to the wife, then went to the bank, then went to the store, got charged twice for something, went to the bank to deposit the leftover cash, realized I got charged twice for something, returned to the store, and had to stand in the hell of a Wal-Mart customer service line.

What a day.

You should record for GS. Wink

Record what? Tongue

Well, I need something to go off of... and I gave you those two drum samples.

I would compose for it, but I'm pretty sure you said you didn't want to have to work around extensive drum skeletons.

QFT

I'm bumping this so hopefully Robert sees it when he gets back.

Oh and then I had to go back to the bank to deposit the money I got charged twice for.  Forgot about that last little step.

What should I do then? I have the composing bug in me today, but I can't do anything else for COAM until Danny comes up.
