As for ADII, I only have heard the debut.  Not bad.  There's a really terrible bonus track (TouchMyPhal I think) on my copy though.  It's one of the worst things I've ever heard.

WAITWAITWAIT

Touchmaphal is my favourite Amon Duul II track ever. I love it so much Heart

That said, yes, Amon Duul II actually change a surprising amount for such an improv band. I think Wolf City is probably my favourite at the moment, though it's nothing like Touchmaphal.

Where?

Dire Straits for PR-thread

Fair enough. It's a pretty entertaining argument if you don't read much of it. Gets less interesting as it goes on, tbh.

Yes, that's been happening to me for about three pages, now LOL

Ah well.

New shinies:

L.A. Woman was excellent, The Genesis Files (bought on the cheap) was better than expected, And Close As This is so far a really interesting recording and concept, Grave New World was great, I'm pretending not to judge Civilian on one listen, because I like doing controversial reviews, but I wasn't really that impressed by it. Making Movies was pretty damn good. Jazz Impressions Of Japan was fantastic. Remain In Light was even better. I liked The Aerosol Grey Machine a lot, and I'm still, every five or six minutes, singing 'I am the necro-MANC-er' very off-key.

Just really biting into revision proper in between typing angry posts because I seem to be in an internet mood atm (I'm really chilled IRL, but it comes off as angry on the net. Go figure).

The Snow Goose is mediocre, but more pleasing than Moonmadness.
So sayeth Linus, after 3-4 spins.

I see.

Multitasking is a waste of time, but what can you do. Here we are, the wired-up generation.

Clap

Have some points, sir.

I quite like The Snow Goose. It's just not outstanding. Mirage remains the cookie, though allegedly their latest ones are good.

If you looked up the definition of mediocre in the dictionary, you'd see a picture of the cover art for The Snow Goose.

It's relaxing, and sometimes really touching.

Pretty much. Just found Age Of EMpires III dusty on a shelf somewhere, so I'm trying really hard not to install that. I'm failing.

For some reason I started to watch anime. Now that was an excellent time-wasting choice! So easy to get hooked.

Tell me about it, brother.

Got hooked on Texhnolyze, which is possibly the best serious series I've seen in a looong time, the other week. Twenty-two episodes later...

Yeah, I'm trying to ignore all other anime suggestions by the friend who suggested that, and failing badly.

And I had no idea Peter Hammill had collaborated with Keith Emerson on a song.

Nice surprise.
