I still haven't bought it. There are just no CD stores around here (in walking distance at least) Cry

Then why is it in your sig so big?  LOL

I got mine at Target. Had the wife pick it up when she went to get God knows what.

And let me tell you, it's excellent.  Almost as good, if not as good, as The Crane Wife.

Sorry to hear that buddy.

I listened to that the other day and I was relatively unimpressed.

It was decent. Nothing more, nothing less. It was better at first, but the music became monotonous towards the last 5 tracks or so.

^^  That's my impression of the Crane Wife to date.  Good, but nothing I can get that excited about.

In other news, Area still rules.

I'll listen to the Crane Wife soon enough. That's exactly how I felt about Hazards though.

And it's funny you mention Area. I haven't listened to them in a little while and I just now put on Maledetti for my first listen. Great album so far. Clap

Now that school's ALMOST out (just one more exam tomorrow), I've been starting to compose a bit more too--got a completely new song in the works and I'm pretty excited about it.

David's coming over after our exam tomorrow; hopefully we'll get some more stuff out of it.

I had an Alex/AC moment with Miriodor yesterday.  It was my second play and it was worlds better than the first time I heard it.

I told you; I was sick and had a headache before my first listen of that album, and I honestly didn't give it a fair try--which is why I was determined to hear it again.

I actually was really excited about hearing Hazards of Love after hearing "Hazards of Love 2" on Dan's radio show. It was good, but that's it. I don't have a desire to listen to it again for a while (unlike Animal Collective, where the next day all I could think about was hearing it again), but hopefully it'll grow on me when I do hear it for the second time.

I'm not really familiar with Miriodor; that's one of those things I figure I'll eventually get around to hearing.

I really don't want to study for this stupid Law final. I made the studyguide, but that's it.

I'm happy to not be hunting too much for new stuff right now.  There's so much I have that hasn't been played that much.  And almost all of it is incredibly awesome.  Clap

Yeah, I definitely understand that; I've been in a similar boat mostly.

Devil's Advocate: Alex did say that The Hazards of Love was "just pop music" for the most part.

I said it was pop music and not art music. Stern Smile

i.e. It's more comparable to pop music than something like Coltrane. Which is entirely true. I also said it was mostly too simplistic for my tastes in a way that kept it from being mindblowing.

Oh my, my school's story is the top headline on cnn.com.
I would have added an emoticon but I don't know how to describe how I feel.

I'm so sorry for what happened in your school, Dan... It must be really traumaticUnhappy. I remember when the V-Tech shooting happened two years ago, and Chris (GoldenSpiral) was a student there.. We were all so worried about him.

On a lighter note, Micky and I already have tickets for the Decemberists' gig on June 8. We might go and catch Opeth later in May, and then there's Yes and Asia on July 23 at the National Harbour, and ProgNation on Aug 1... Lots of great stuff!
