You know, Pekka, I was thinking about you earlier today. At the Finnish Embassy here in DC there is an exhibition called MyHelsinki, about the experiences of a group of 12 Washingtonians in your capital city. I think Micky and I will go to see it before the end of the month, even if it is bound to make me sad... I haven't been back to Finland in exactly 7 years, and I doubt I ever will. It's a long story, and I don't want to bore you with it, though.

^Wow Waiting for the day when Decemberists and Yes find their way to this part of the world. Opeth did and they were brilliant.

I'm so sorry for what happened in your school, Dan... It must be really traumatic . I remember when the V-Tech shooting happened two years ago, and Chris (GoldenSpiral) was a student there.. We were all so worried about him. On a lighter note, Micky and I already have tickets for the Decemberists' gig on June 8. We might go and catch Opeth later in May, and then there's Yes and Asia on July 23 at the National Harbour, and ProgNation on Aug 1... Lots of great stuff!

Oh my, my school's story is the top headline on cnn.com. I would have added an emoticon but I don't know how to describe how I feel.

Yeah, I definitely understand that; I've been in a similar boat mostly.

I really don't want to study for this stupid Law final. I made the studyguide, but that's it.

I'm not really familiar with Miriodor; that's one of those things I figure I'll eventually get around to hearing.

I listened to that the other day and I was relatively unimpressed.
It was decent. Nothing more, nothing less. It was better at first, but the music became monotonous towards the last 5 tracks or so. |

I told you; I was sick and had a headache before my first listen of that album, and I honestly didn't give it a fair try--which is why I was determined to hear it again. I actually was really excited about hearing Hazards of Love after hearing "Hazards of Love 2" on Dan's radio show. It was good, but that's it. I don't have a desire to listen to it again for a while (unlike Animal Collective, where the next day all I could think about was hearing it again), but hopefully it'll grow on me when I do hear it for the second time.

Now that school's ALMOST out (just one more exam tomorrow), I've been starting to compose a bit more too--got a completely new song in the works and I'm pretty excited about it.
David's coming over after our exam tomorrow; hopefully we'll get some more stuff out of it.

I'll listen to the Crane Wife soon enough. That's exactly how I felt about Hazards though. And it's funny you mention Area. I haven't listened to them in a little while and I just now put on Maledetti for my first listen. Great album so far.

Maternal, paternal, and great-grandma on mom's side makes three.
