Just before tuckin' in I have a question for James...
Shouldn't your sig read "Beautiful women are shaped like an Elton Dean sax", so without the "solo" at the end? |

Thanks for the kind thought there Jim - alas it's only a flat so I won't be able to have a shed (assuming everything goes through OK in the next few weeks).
My sister was at York university and now lives in Ripon, so I know that part of the world very well and it sounds like you had a good day in the land of the flat cap and the whippet - no problems with the natives, then?

Splendid day on Saturday for the Gartens, BTW - day trip up to York with 16 other Mutual Friend regulars; terrific weather, did most of the York city wall walk, good laughs had all round, many good hostelries visited, many fine brews sampled, much good good eaten, nobody crossed the contentment-before-capacity threshold & back to the Mutual in time for a swift before bed.

This is probably the best time to get there, to be honest - Vicky and I did the same 18 years ago at the depth of the last recession; it may still go down, but eventually, you'll be well in profit.
Good on ya guys |

It looks like me and Mrs Syzygy could be getting a toe on the propery ladder soon. HELP!
Oh, and is anyone else going to the Gryphon gig next month?

That reminds me, I need to see if they released any recordings. They're a band featuring former members of Henry Cow but I don't think they recorded. They were a touring outfit only. Anyhow... back to Greyism. |

Hate to double post....but I am currently up at 3:37 am!
There is this beeping, really loud beeping (sounds like a truck backing up almost) that has been going on forever! I have no idea what it is, and now I am wide awake. |

Sounds good to me. And it depends on what beer you have. If its any good I make no guarantees And as for the swine flu. As I was typing this I JUST got a "call" from the Superintendent of our school system saying there are no more confirmed or suspected cases, but children should never the less be sure to wash their hands etc etc etc Wait, no MORE.....? I've been on the Pat & Mick for the last couple of days with an unpleasant bug of some kind - absolutely, positively, DEFINITELY not swine flu - but at the slightest hint of a runny nose or a sneeze everybody wants you to stay off work at the moment. It's just a pity that I'm feeling too battered to enjoy it.

Such is the case with all forums (fora?? ) people come & go, popularity waxes & wanes, real life issues intercede. That's what's good about The Shed - here, members of a certain age (and others, if they behave themselves & leave my beer alone ) can come & go, swap gardening stories & various age related trivia, complain about young'uns & generally have a nap in peace.
As with all such threads, it's sometimes busy here & sometimes dead as a doornail... but it's always here |
