Jesus Christ, Dan, I hadn't heard about that. I'm sorry to hear about the fatality but glad to hear that there weren't more victims.

The whole situation has been a bit unsettling, but I've been indoors ever since it happened and have felt quite safe. I was with a large group of friends before but now they've all split up to study for finals. In case you need catching up: There was a fatal shooting in my school's bookstore this afternoon. A man shot several shots in to one student at work (reporters say ex boyfriend but it's not certain). He has still yet to be captured, though he is believed to be off the campus.

You know what, I just don't give a sh*t anymore. I barely have time to even listen to music, let alone check the tag of every track. So whatever shows up on my charts, it is what it is. I'm not doing anything about it.

I've heard of Time of Orchids. I think Assaf's mentioned them.
I just don't know their music.
Kate Pierson from B52's guests on Sarcast While, as does Julee Cruise.
Interesting.

They turn up as being similar to Guapo and I just checked their Wiki and it says they're avant.

Never heard of them. Five Suns is very good. It was only Elixirs that I wasn't that crazy about.

Any recommendations?
I usually start at the beginning of discographies but I guess I can make exceptions.

Time of Orchids = rather cool
For some reason they remind me of Mew if they decided to become an avant garde band.

Hmmm Five Suns reminds me very much of a modern-day Shub-Niggurath. Very good indeed. I've also just realised that Five Suns was released on Cuneiform. Black Oni's recording is perfect. It's a shame Five Suns doesn't sound as amazing sonically.

Both Vortex are excellent and you'll definitely like the second. Perhaps even more.
As for me, I'm listening to something very cool too.

Quite good. Still need to hear that second album. The new Cheer-Accident was very cool.

Eh, muppets exist to be ignored. I don't think he's really particularly malicious, he just doesn't contribute much positive stuff.

Ya know, I know all about the "ignore the trolls" thing.....and often I do that. But when people choose to attack the site itself (and our work) I sometimes can't let that go. I've put too much into it to have some whiner come by and say such nonsense without responding.

I'm actually writing an essay about Jean-Philippe Rameau. But I remember reviewing a SMZ album as if it was depicting the end of the world or a world of riot.
