Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing well. Alex, how did the exam go?
This morning I put most of the paperwork for the interview together. Hopefully we'll have everything we need by the beginning of next week... We need some more proof of having a 'real marriage'. It's cold here at home... Hard to believe that a week ago it was like summer!

Hi Raff, How was your first baseball game experience? It seems as though you went to see Cardinals and instead got ducks. ![Wink Wink](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif) I was at the Tigers' game on Sunday and saw that the game in Washington was rained out, so I am assuming that with the rain puddles came the ducks to play in them.
Good luck with your interview. I am sure that it'll go fine.

There was no game.. It was eventually cancelled, but we choose not to go altogether, since Micky was sure of the outcome. Hopefully we'll be able to go when the game is rescheduled! Robert, I am a sweet and loving woman, and would never give my dear husband black eyes ![LOL LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) ...

Very best of luck Raff - I know everything will go well for you, but still it's so much stress... I don't know how I would "prove" my marriage is real, other than videotaping my wife yelling at me to take out the garbage.

What they want is stuff such as health insurance (which we have - I am on Micky's), utilities bills, mortgages, joint bank accounts, etc etc. Of course, if those people are not idiots, the fact I am giving up a government job in Italy in order to live here with my husband should be proof enough that I have not married him for a Green Card ![Confused Confused](smileys/smiley5.gif) . I have to admit, if things were not so bad at home, I'd go back in a heartbeat, because I hate feeling like I have to prove that I'm innocent of a crime ![Dead Dead](smileys/smiley11.gif) .

Ange (le cimetiere des arlequins) was really very strong, and Greenslade is great so far.

You mean Greenslade's debut album? I've got that and "Bedside Manners Are Extra" - both very accomplished albums, though I must admit they leave me somewhat cold. Micky is quite into Ange, while I find the vocals a tad offputting.

Yep, the debut. I really admire a couple of the musicians on it (the criminally underestimated Tony Reeves and Andy McCulloch), and I have to admit, so far, I really like it, especially the vocals a couple of reviewers are complaining about. I can understand where you're coming from on both of them, though I think the vocals are perhaps what make Ange (well, from what I've heard) so unique... I've never heard a band that uses them quite like that.

Some RPI bands are even more extreme in their use of theatrical vocals, or at least very alike. Anyway, since you're a huge VDGG fan, I can understand that kind of vocal style doesn't bother you at all, on the contrary ![Wink Wink](smileys/smiley2.gif) .

Heh, very true... Jumbo were maybe something like that, and theatricality is definitely a big part of most of the few R PI bands I've heard so far (PFM and, to an extent, Area, who are more avant-garde than theatrical excepted). Haven't yet heard something quite that fluid and vituperative... really quite interesting to listen to for me.

Hey, Raff, good luck! My exam went very well, actually; it was easier than I expected. I'll have to see what my score was, but I'm 99% positive I got the grade I needed to keep an A in the class. Now just 1 more!

Unfortunately, non-Americans marrying Americans so that they can move to America and work is a common occurrence. I recall reading a story about a woman whose "job" was essentially marrying foreign men so that they could move, live, and work in the United States. Although, I am all for We Are The World and all that, in order for a government to govern its people, it needs to set definitions of who those people are or who they can be. And unfortunately, for each person who tries to go through the proper channels and legal means there are hundreds that try to cheat the system or have alternative motives not in the best interest to our country and its citizens. As the saying goes, a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch, and it is all of these bad apples that makes it so difficult for the good apples in the bunch.

I agree. It's a real shame. Anyway, best of luck Raff. I'm sure you'll do just fine.

I guess you're right, and it's too bad, true. Maybe it's just that a joint banking account is something I would never agree too (and I've been with my common law husband 8 years). And moving away to a foreign country to marry someone would be, for me personally, an even bigger reason to keep a separate account incase things don't work out. I agree with the other stuff, no problem.
I wonder what they do up here, actually
My dad kept his citizenship and everything when he moved here, but that was in 1967, so things have probably changed since. Although I don't understand why anyone would want to move to Quebec ![Wink Wink](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)

But seriously...
Mellow Candle's second album: quite a dissapointment. Very annoying, in fact.

It's 1984-1985 and I have absolutely no idea what's going on with Zappa's music. It's just his worst ever (yet?).
