I'm around here sometimes, but Sabbath will definitely drive me away.

Yeah, I used to watch it (& others) on Cartoon Network a lot. I practically lived with cartoons till I was 14 - but about when stupidities like Cow & Chicken, Ed, Edd & Eddy, even Johnny Bravo, etc. filled in, plus when all the cartoon started beeing dubbed in Romanian by outstandingly poor actors, I lost it. Everytime I land on CN nowadays, I see things like Chowder, Total Island Drama, RobotBoy and they all make me sick. The last cartoon I fully watched was Avatar (on Nickelodeon), and I loved it. Otherwise, I still taste a few animes nowadays. There's a channel called Boomerang that goes back to good ol' cartoons instead of 3rd Millenium junk, I occasionaly tune in for some immortal toons. |

Then I guess that it is a good thing that you are busy with your trojans.

Rico, Is that the new Five Peace Band album that I see listed in your recently played tracks? I downloaded that album from emusic this morning and I am looking forward to hearing it. What do you think of it?

You see, I think Ozzy swallowed one too many Trojans. Might explain his voice after Sabotage...

Yes it is. It's good stuff, and quite succulent in epics too, but I have a side-feeling that it's just good jazz coming from "headphones" compared to the thrills seeing FPB live gave me. Yep, saw them in Bucharest last November, playing pretty much the same stuff as on this record, and it was mindblowing. Chick was a bit laid-back, not jumping in as a lead man in order to keep it a band balance, John was electric-wiring as usual, but Kenny Garrett was absolutely masterliness, Colaiuta played like a pro, and the whole show was an immense success. This album, beyond being a good one, brings such great memories. Edited by Ricochet - May 01 2009 at 15:19 |

Holy crap, it sounds like I need to get that, especially with Corea, McLaughlin, and Colaiuta. That will make my mind explode, especially since Colaiuta is one of my biggest drumming idols. Edited by MovingPictures07 - May 01 2009 at 15:31 |

I got pretty stuffed with great jazz concerts (by great jazz names) these last three-four years. At first it was Al Di Meola right in my bloody hometown - and everyone saw it as the event of the decade. But then it just kept getting better: Eberhard Weber, Esbjorn Svensson Trio (oh, ES, how missed you are ![]() I've booked some things for this year as well: Abercrombie and Rypdal will come in July to probably the greatest jazz festival in my country, and Garbarek teams up with Corea & others in November. Wowwy zowwy! 10 years ago, we would say "get in the plane and go hunt these legends down somewhere in Germany or France", but now, just by travelling across the country to these festivals, I just couldn't ask for more. Except Jarrett. I'd still ask for Jarrett. Getting to hear Jarrett live would ultimately mean cloud nine. |

A real pro that guy, from creative and delicate to explosive. I think he's currently somewhere in my top preferences, along with Peacock & others. |
