Yeah, I don't care for that song with Gabriel either. Though all of Peter Gabriel's albums as entire pieces are actually pretty good, with the exception of 2/Scratch.

I only heard Close to the Edge a few years back and I still have never heard a Genesis album in full. Wobbler's Hinterland is rather interesting. I don't know how it would sit with me now... I've not heard it for ages (like from before the time I got into all that evil avant-prog stuff that everyone hates me for listening to).

Pat, you're married with kids... I am sure I would be in the same situation as you are if I was a mother. Unfortunately, I am much older, and I was a spinster until four months ago . Micky was also in your shoes a few years ago, and in an unhappy marriage to boot. We are perhaps an unusual couple in that we both enjoy music, and the same kind of music as well.

I'd love to find someone who is into music as much as I am, let alone the same kinds of music, but I'm definitely doubting that.

It may sound weird but I do know real-life people in my town who like some of the same music as I do. Yet I don't consider them close friends and I often find they're annoying. One of them is a musician though and it's weird... musicians don't seem to like me.

Gilmour sings backing vocals on that song I mentioned, "Pull Out the Pin"... His voice is quite recognisable. Alex, I agree with you about PG's second album - it's dull throughout. My favs from him are IV/Security and Up. I saw him live in London when he was promoting Security (1983), and the show was simply amazing.

I watched Gabriel's Growing Up DVD this weekend, and it is quite enjoyable. The music is good, and he does a lot of things on stage to entertain the crowd. His daughter sings with him also. And of course he has a pretty decent bass player playing with him.

I caught the "UP" tour and despite the fact that it costs us hundreds of dollars, it was fantastic.

And I'm probably the only one here at PA who thinks SO was his best solo work. Followed by Passion.

Tony Levin ftw. I wonder if I should get that DVD.
