Because it is so different for me as I am not a frequent listener of Classical music and it is beautiful.

My 2009 album of the week has been GARGAMEL's "Descending" - these guys improve on their great retro-prog formula from their first album and make it more ballsy, incorporating a higher dose of psychodelia and spacey ornaments. A great 2009 album, indeed.

My older album of the week has been TWELFTH NIGHT's "Live and Let Live", one of the best live prog albums from the 80s.

   Kind regards.

Bettie Serveert "Private Suit"

I'm a big fan of Bettie Serveert and I've been looking for a copy of this for like 10 years, not aggressively but every time I've been in a store, came across it this week Smile

My album of the week, because I've played it like 10 times this week Tongue

That is great when you finally track one down, I am the same. Every now and again you look around and one day one turns up. Also what is the album like as I have never heard the artist and if it took you that long I am curiousSmile

They're a Dutch rock indie band that's been around since the early 90s.. They've toured with bands like Belly, Dinosaur Jr, Buffalo Tom, Superchunk, Come and Jeff Buckley...

They lean closer to British pop sensibilities than riotgrrl...

I tend to agree - and the more I hear it the more I prefer Anette as a vocalist over Tarja Approve

Devin Townsends' Ki, for the second week running.
Open your eyes, it's full of surprise, everyone lies,

No surprises for my Album of the Week:

Ex-Enid guitarist Francis Lickerish returns after being away from the music scene for 30 years with a terrific symphonic/folk masterpiece. Worthy of mention is Hillary Palmer's stunning vocals on this (somewhere between Sally Oldfield and Annie Haslam in style) - a beautifully clear semi-classical voice.

What?
