It sounds beautiful in vinyl quality. Wink

Code666 says the shirt will be released some time before the end of the month so not too much longer yet!!!

If you truly want a shirt of mine very badly though you can buy one with my logo on it. Just PM and tell me what size you need. They're $23 each... and a big majority of it will be "donated" to post. Tongue

I'm sad to admit that i'm not too familiar with vinyl, but i've been reading alot lately about the the more "true" sound that a vinyl record can produce. Do you think the difference in quality is really substantial enough to shell out the cash for a vinyl record player?

Nothing "weird" about that imo Smile

It really depends what album you are talking about. Something really fine tuned FOR CD like Porcupine Tree? No. Anything made before 1990? YES!!! The quality difference in older albums is absolutely immense.

What about bands that are renowned for making excellent vinyl releases like Godspeed for example? I've always wanted to listen to F#A Infinity on vinyl.

well, just checked my recent lastfm data - almost no Post-Rock at all I listen to MINSK a lot, though. Amazing band, and utterly underrated.

Wait, I'm a liar I listened to:

General Lee - very good french atmospheric Post-Metal, reminding me of best CoL days. 45 mins, 6 tracks - neither too long nor too short recommended.
A Storm Of Light/Nadja - really good split/collaboration work. I even liked SoL more than Baker's stuff this time. I even dare to say, that these two SoL songs are better than their 2008 debut!
Fall Time - fine Post-metal from 2002, and as for 2002 it sounds revolutionary. Counting this - recommended!
From Monument To Masses - On Little Known Frequencies - nice as usual. Melikey
Our Ceasing Voice - 2009 - Steadied Stars In The Morphium Sky [EP] - very MONOish release, but still enjoyable. A good clone is better than...than a bad one, ok)))

I'd say get out of my thread, but then I realized this isn't purely a metal thread, it's only 1/3 metal, the other thirds are post rock and math rock, damn it:P

Tortoise is amazing. Also, I finally got around to hearing a Dirty Three album (Horse Stories), and I must say it was pretty good.

Good music! You've probably just entered the best couple of months in your musical life.

Is Tortoise's Standards album a good representation of their best sound?

^ I'd have to give that honor to TNT, although i like their self titled album almost just as much. TNT felt like their peak to me; honestly, i haven't especially found anything they've done since that album too interesting.

TNT is definitely the definitve Tortoise album, but I personally think that all of their albums are great.

I got a legit copy of Standards a long time ago, but never gave it any serious listening cause it was not too interesting. I'll be sure to listen to it tonight.

BTW, I'm listening to Burzum right now... I really like this, even though Varg himself is the shame of the entire black metal community, this sounds super good!
