Thank you for that advice, but please, spare me your public lectures.
When were you appointed moderator, anyway?
I believe I am quite free to express my opinion, and not only on subjects which I "like." It is my forum as much as it is yours.
I also know that I am not the first to express dismay at this topic. Can I assume you publicly singled out and lectured those people too?
And yes, I have always believed that discussing one's sex life (except perhaps with a doctor, or one's partner) shows a lack of class, a lack of self respect, and a lack of respect for one's partner. As there are many young people here, I can of course set an example of more fitting behaviour -- offer an alternate vision of adulthood. I have censored no one -- nor do I have that power. (I had not even quoted anyone.)
if I had a teen son or daughter on here, i would not want them to feel pressured to lose their virginity by a certain age to "keep up' or fit in, nor would i want them to think that this is an appropriate topic, least of all for the internet.
I follow my conscience -- you can follow yours.

In his "marbles" poll, Laplace wrote:

^ Hmmm... He said basically the same thing that I did ("class" being synonymous with "dignity"). How come you didn't quote him and lecture him, Micky? Or is this a more personal grudge?

Of course the best way to get this closed is to set off on a non-related tangent to the original topic.
I'm not totally convinced that we need this poll but having regular access to Cosmopolitan magazine it seems to be a subject that enthrals people. I haven't read all the posts but apparently 25% will be telling porkies according to statistics...

Then maybe you can tell me how they have 10 new sex secrets every issue? I always thought they would have run out by now, but maybe you know the fount of their erogonous knowledge?
Oh yeah, topic. I think already responded, but if I haven't, I am posting on Prog Archives and I listen to avant-garde music, what do you think?

I'm still waiting, any takers????
Wait a second, there are kids running around my house that have my oversize ears........maybe I should pay better attention.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

I'm tellin' ya, 18 was the perfect age more to lose my V-Card; it wasn't too early or too late, and it just felt right.
Too bad the girl in question nearly led me to suicide O_O *whistles and walks away*

You know, polls like this are pretty silly because everyone has a different life situation and the time right for everyone differently. I wish everyone could say the same as you that they look back and it was the right choice at the right time. So many people do it for the wrong reasons......oh well, their life not mine.

Haha, well, I look at life that way in general. This isn't a race, though many people look at aging as a reason to rush things in life. Everything will happen at the right time if you are simply patient.
At lleast that's how I feel. Maybe I'm just kidding myself.

About the debate between Peter and Micky.
First, I find this thread funny and it seems to me nobody took it very serious (and some of the answers I have found very funny). As I saw it most people here were laughing mainly on themselves and that is something I hope my children will learn to do so if I had kids in these ages (and they will be there in about 3 or 4 years) then I would feel no harm will be caused to them by reading this thread.
Second, isn't a great deal of art were made against hypocracy ?
And last, Peter's respond reminded me for some odd reason words written by John Lennon :
And you think your'e so clever and classless and free
but your'e still f**king peasent as far as I can see

I'm 23 and still no sex. To be honest, if I ever get in a committed relationship, I may try to avoid sex. It seems like it's too easy to blur the lines between infatuation and real love. I guess it just depends on what she wants to do. I definitely think the focus has shifted away from love and toward sex. I think it's a kneejerk reaction to the sexual repression that existed beforehand. I'm just hoping the pendulum will snap back to a more moderate center, but the way it's going it might just sheer clean off. Don't get me wrong, I think everyone should be free to do whatever. I'm not advocating a return to the dark ages. I simply think people would be happier if the worked more on the metaphysical aspects of their relationships instead of physical. And in turn society would be healthier as a whole. I'll shut up now, no doubt I've pissed off a few people.
