I used the DJX to control an Akai Vintage Synth module I had on an extended loan but unfortunately the module's owner wanted it back. I liked using the DJX's rhythm accompaniments to control the synth module, got some interesting results.

Heh, guess you're into playing the kinda stuff I am, judging from the gear. I hated the AVT series, the older Valvestates that came before them actually sounded way better, I don't get how Marshall managed to make an "improved" version sound worse. To be fair, the AVT has good clean tones, but for me who needs a good metal tone, it's non existent. They would be better for more classic tones I guess, not for modern tone guys like myself  Give one of the Valvestate 8100 amps a go if you can find one, so raw and unprocessed sounding compared to the AVT's distortion. The JVM series that came out 2 years ago are amazing though, but granted they cost 2 times what the AVT did, seem to cover everything from remarkably clean clean tones, to modern day death metal in one box, amazing stuff. How's that Tech 21 British pedal? Use it to overdrive preamps of amps or for the distortion itself in the pedal? |

I don't use too much distortion (about halfway on the Marshall's OD1 channel) and I find the AVT is perfect for my needs (it sounds particularly good with my Telecaster). I'm more of a classic rock / punk / indie guitarist than a metaller.
I haven't really explored the full potential of the Tech 21 pedal yet. I've used it as an overdrive with pretty good results but I really want to try recording with it straight into my Korg D8 to compare it with the Zoom's digital modelling. Need to get the "studio" sorted out first!

 I'm interested to hear how the Tech 21 is when you unlock a bit more of it's potential. Tech 21 products are getting a good reputation it seems. |

Help can someone help me out pls... I got roland vintage soundmodule,a EMU vintage keys and a MK149 evolution master keyboard... I can play with keybrd on the roland, but i just cant seem to communicate with the EMU. the demo songs play, all testing comes up OK , i'm not so midi knowledged... can someone helpme out please? enjoilife@hot mail.com
