I hope the "hugley" is a typo Chris! At least, I don't remember any hugging! Yep, another great evening, fine beer food and company. And the District Line was working this time!

Indeed 'twas a great evening*, good beer, good food, great company major thanks to all from Vicky and I; splendid food @ Zizzi, too (that garlic bread is still repeating on me ) - let's not leave it too long before the next one eh?
* Despite my getting a call halfway through telling me they'd called paramedics out to my mother who was apparently having difficulty in breathing , hence the frequent dashes outside to use the mobile. All was well in the end, she'd just had a bad week, worked herself up & had a major panic attack - she's fine now.

It was a fantastic night to be sure. Always lots of good conversation,
wilds stories and very funny comments (the Pallas quote had me smiling
all the way back on the train). Thank you one and all for an excellent
night out. Long may the Curry (in in this instance, the pizza) of Prog
continue.
It's a pity that no-one thought to take a few photos of the group for the cover of the next Classic Prog magazine.

I have this buddy of mine whom I`ve known since high school and he is always, no, constantly, acusing me of showing signs of getting old ( I`m 47 this year ) because of my reluctance to embrace new technology.
I still have a current commercial pilot`s licence ( I used to fly in the military ) and I took him up a couple of weeks ago for a hop and just to get in some hours. So I borrowed a single-engined Belanca Citabria Champion off a friend. You`ll notice that spelled backwards Citabria spells " airbatic ". It`s a tandem two seat light aircraft with a 115 hp engine and a top speed of about 125 mph that is normally used for training, sport flying and I think a few armies also use it as a spotting aircraft and as such is stressed to withstand between +5 & -2 Gs. The particular aircraft I was flying was manafactured in 1970 and I told him not to worry about flying in an old aircraft because I was an old pilot.
To make a long story short I took us up to 8,000 ft and deliberately put the aircraft into a spin. To a non-pilot this can be a scary experience but it is something that should be practiced and all student private pilot`s are taught how to recover from one. I told him that that the controls wouldn`t respond and that I thought we were pretty much f**ed and that I was getting too old for this s*** . He was just freaking in the back seat. I pulled out at a safe altitude and all he wanted to do was for me to get the aircraft on the ground. After a while he realized that I had done it on purpose. I had to say it after we were safely on the ground " Still think I`m showing signs of getting old ?" He cooled off after a few beers.

That's probably for the best. A Prog magazine wouldn't see that many copies at the best of times, but with us on the front? (just to be clear, I am referring to the male members of the party).

Maybe everyone's gone away for Easter? I've just had lunch thanks Rach, but if you could drop a slice round about 3-ish, it will go down very nicely with my cup o' tea. Thanks.
