That image tells me that a girl, presumably 25-30 years old, had just had sex with a poor innocent teddy bear... The music will be electro-pop euro-oriented with flashes of jazzy-delight provided by the shades of blue that we can find in the title of the album, which obviously is a reference to Miles Davis' masterpiece. It probably presents a metaphor about the ocean and also about how she was feeling so sad and "blue" but suddenly found a bear to vent all her frustations on and a few hours later, against a virginal, quite mystically-religious white pure backdrop, she emerges with the corpse of the damned bear who represents mankind, those b*****ds who robbed her virtues in the back of a gray alley many years ago.... Her pants are torn, which is a sign of the struggles she has made in life and the fight she put to keep her honour, something the ^%@% teddy bear had to endure because that b*****d paid for all of our crimes......

.... yes my people, I have realized this is a religious album.

Look how brillianty every woman is looking ina different direction, a sign of utter originality and chaos, disorder, hence, according to them, rebellion and art. The girls bring the balance, those two in the corner, to the black lack of color of the center of the picture, a sign of the incrediblt artistry that can be found in the music of this group of people, who can't try harder enough to look like they don't belong, even though they just fall in a complete different category, but they're just as mundane as the rest in their group. They adapted to their rules. They don't belong to the "non-indie" group, oh no. They really don't. They're just as vulgar because they look like exactly any kind of group that plays the music they play.

If you really don't want to sell your image and prostitute yourself, then stay away from the cover inlet. Otherwise all you're doing is posing and making your little ego be given some of the praise that, originally, the music by itself should be able to get.

Albums WITHOUT the pics of the artists.... now that's much better.... but very few manage to do that.... it takes BALLLS.

Funnily all the observations that seems to be correct, and not just angry and hateful, were almost identical to what I wrote about the Decemberists.

While I think the Debbie Gibson cover works very much like a psychological personality test. Similar to the Rorschach inkblot test (I'm sure T is familiar with it).

Have they come to give Debbie Gibson's teddy bear the last rites?

That picture is pretty pitiful. They should just go back to being a progressive band rather than trying to rock and be metal. The album artwork is really cool though, but i'm not getting my hopes up again. They have been dissappointing for awhile now.

Bands like Pink Floyd, Yes, and Tool managed to do it for years before showing clear images of themselves in any part of the album.

While in the midst of a divine trance, our intrepid monks neglected to notice that the tide was comng in. The monk in the middle, being of more slight build, is shivering in the cold, while our more portly friends are thinking of, well port, and specifically where they might find it.  All are thankful that the tide didn't make it up to their underwear (assuming such garments are needed for monks)
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Re monks' traditional undergarments: I do believe Benedictine monks (okay I could've got the denomination wrong) used to wear boxers made from some type of hessian. Bit of a sackloth & ashes connection, I guess.

I STILL think they look like rejects from Arthur Brown's 1968 Top of the Pops version of Fire. Also think Carl Palmer and Vincent Crane were on that one - all wore hoods so 'tis hard to tell.

Its surely an Emerson, Lake & Palmer coverband with keen 16th century Germanic influences

It's evident that their music is a mixture of new-age with gregorian chants to give it a "monk effect". The clear sun in the beach is obviously the most stupid place for three "monks" to be standing upon, but it may be a reference to the fable about when Jesus walked on the waters, because if not, it really doesn't make any remote sense (not that the reference does either, but at least they can blame the chessyness on their beliefs...) Again, they're all looking in different directions, which may be an attempt to show how individually artistic this particular endeavor is, trying to re-affirm the musical skills or knowledge of each of these "monks". Of course, failed actors as they are, they don't convey any sense of grandeur but a feeling of utter boredom; just look at the middle guy, submerged in drowsiness, or the left-most one, who is apparently thinking of the hamburguer he is not eating because of this stupid photo-shoot. The right-most guy is clearly the most focused one, probably because he realized the cameraman, trying to make the pic look "new age", decided to take a diagonal-looking picture, and he's going to be the only one who will look completely vertical, so he better holds this position or the whole thing, which is already a mess to begin with (again: monks in the water? With so many cathedral and monasteries in the world? At least ELP in "love beach" appear in street clothes...), will become a complte and utter failure...

Oh... the music should be cheesy as hell...
