Topic: Dredg announce new tour dates Posted: April 04 2009 at 18:05 |
Now that they've finally finished their forthcoming album, dredg is back on the road. Also of note, they're bringing the super fun, super awesome stoner/doom metal meets pop band Torche with them. There is also a band called Judgement Day that will be on this tour that plays a unique brand of metal that consists of no guitars whatsoever, just drums, cello and violin. Should be interesting. I, for one, am excited for this show, especially to hear the new material live. Hopefully they'll be bringing copies of the album with them (at least for the later dates), so I might get an early copy!
Here is a list of dates for the tour:

I'm not sure if I'm going yet. I just saw them in November so I'm not sure if its worth budgeting.
So you know Judgment Day was awesome live. The guys have a ton of energy on stage. It doesn't translate as well on record, but I picked up their album at the show and it is certainly good.
Their acoustic EP is downloadable for free at their website and on last.fm I believe.

Yeah they were great live... I've really enjoyed their cds as well. Though I feel one has to see them live before they can appreciate them I guess, have had very little success in promoting them.

^I can't copy and paste them, but I added a MySpace link which might work.
Also, why was my subject title changed?

Understandable, but Torche is going to be there this time!
Yes, I remember listening to the recorded Judgement Day stuff and I think it came off as a bit dull. I can see/hear how they'd be a good live band, but on record I think they lack something (probably due to their instrumentation). I'll give it another go sometime. Maybe they've put up some new material that I might like.
