As usual my wife had to have the shrimp puffs. Minced shrimp wrapped in bacon and deep fried. Does it get more healthy than that? ![]() ![]() Edited by Slartibartfast - April 03 2009 at 16:07 |

Oriental food is terrible... Sorry but I have serious problems with vegetables... and raw fish...
Talking about "diet" products, I've completely changed my semi-addiction for Coke to semi-addiction for Coke-zero... now the red one tastes too sweet for me.... and it actually works as I'm taking less sugar a day (the results on the negative effects of aspartame or not in yet...) Try Sprite zero, too... much better than the regular one...
I love potatoes, meat, all the negative stuff... I really have to control myself and I've managed to do it pretty decently, but lately I've started to fail again... a couple pounds have come back...

Japanese eat raw fish - most other Asian peoples don't. As for vegetables, in Italy we eat just about as many, though cooked in different ways. And potatoes are not negative at all, unless you load them with fats ![]() |

I love some raw fish (tuna, tuna, tuna), orientals and Indians (Italians, too ![]() I'm with you on those "zero" products, diagnosed with the d2 and had to give up sugared soft drinks, always hated standard diet coke. Edited by Slartibartfast - April 03 2009 at 16:06 |

I could eat my weight in hummus
![]() ...if you don't have a food processor then you can substitute a potato masher - you just have to boil the chickpeas for about 2 hrs. or until they're really tender

I'm getting a craving to go visit Instanbul Cafe, which is in my home neighborhood of Decatur, for some strange reason.

In my house, my parents, or at least my mom HATES to eat "fast food"(burgers, hot dogs, what else?)
So you can expect eating in my house quite healthy, and specially now, that my father has to loose weight. BTW: here in my house we LOVE fish, be it raw ala sushi, or ala Peruvian. Though I admit, I don't eat a lot of vegetables.... ![]() |

I'm not sure what that is, but let me see if I can identify the ingredients. Green onions on top, of course, mmm. Second thing I saw is either an egg yolk or yellow cheese. Haven't figured out what's under that, but further under that is either bacon or some kind of meat. then I see some white onions and some kind of sauce on top of some tortillas (3), probably corn tortillas. Whatever is in between the corn tortillas is anyone's guess. Refried beans? How did I do? ![]() Edited by Slartibartfast - April 03 2009 at 21:10 |

Mmm, that looks almost as good as what's shown on the inner album cover of ZZ Top's Tres Hombres.

I'll eat whatever I damn well please till it kills me. At least when I die I'll die knowing I never robbed myself.
Have never been to Texas but I'd love to make it here:
Of course, this is what 1/2 my dinner tonight looked like:
minus the tomato and plus egg
so I'm not doing too bad for myself here in PA

The point is missed.....does eating low fat spreads on your toast make any difference....my answer is no....and nothing has been proven that it does. Vegetarians have no longer life expectancy than those who eat meat.
Finally what is healthy? A paraplegic can be healthy, a fat person can be healthy.....even a stick insect can be healthy, however someone underweight HAS a lower life expectancy than an overweight person...makes you think....or it should. Edited by visitor2035 - April 03 2009 at 21:07 |
