Hello. I'm new here on progarchives, but not new in prog rock music (well, this style lasts for half of my life) so I've decided to join this site after using this page for a while. Heh, first album reviewed was obvious one, Dark Side of the Moon. Five stars instantly. Then others. And I gave some ratings too, for Genesis Foxtrot, SEBtP and Moon Safari's Blomljud. Last one mentioned is what is concerning me. I gave rating and today, I wrote 850 words review. And I'm not able to post it, because it tells me that I've already make this thing. Yeah, I already gave rating, but this was because I wanted to rate them first and write some words later, when I will have time. And it seems impossible now.
Is it possible to add review ? I would like to see my words about albums and present them to others, it's the reason why I joined this site. I don't want to go to another site, because yours is the best, so anything else would be descend.

I hope for good solution. Take care proggers

Send a private message to one of the Administrators and ask them to delete your rating only review.  Once your rating only review is deleted you will be able to add your written review.

Ah, sad thing, I though that I could rate something and review later. Anyway, thanks for solution.

Stick around long enough and write enough reviews, and you could get promoted to prog reviewer in which case you would be allowed to update your reviews but until then, unfortunately the only way is to ask an Admin to delete.  Mike will be proud of me, but another PA user, Mike has a website called www.progfreak.com  where you can also review CDs and add and edit your ratings at your leisure.

I'm sure I will last long enough to be one. I took all major culture places, csfd.cz (something like imdb, but from my country - it is professional enough to be interested in), deviantart for occasionally pictures made by me and check some of others, last.fm for precious statistics and to literally see how rock is making over 66% of my music (mostly progressive rock, then classic rock, then just rock etc, 8% has soundtracks by the way ... this reminds me that I'll probably use progfreak to make this nice chart which you have and explore this site too), some news sites and finally, site much better than last.fm, progarchives. Last.fm doesn't allow reviews, this site is not made for this purpose. But we have progarchives. And we all are glad. As I can see, you have ten thousand posts here on forum, you're prolific in posts as Frank Zappa/Rick Wakeman in making music, this is good.

I will have to bother some admin for removal my rating, but I think, that in the end, I gave this topic in right section. It's not so hard to implement some edit button, or it's not too heavy burden for server to let users edit their reviews. Or make rating first and then add review. From my point of view (amateur, maybe I don't see things in big scale, but still), it seems like good idea. It surely will improve this site.

My second though was about moving comment higher on the page, under albums, above the ebay things and videos. But take it as just suggestion, not demand. Who am I to demand something. Noone. Just listener who though a lot.

Regards again : -)

By the way welcome to the site.  I think that the ability to edit reviews would be a simple fix, but it is more of a site policy to not allow people to edit their reviews.  In some ways, not the best of policies, but due to the "few bad apples spoil the whole bunch" mentality, a policy that the site owner feels is necessary.

Probably, hey, this saying with apples is good. I'm not native speaker and so I like them. So I'll contact some admin, can you recommend me someone suitable ?
By the way, when I though about Moon Safari and their great music, I've tried to find lyrics to their album somewhere. Absolutely no chance. Few reasons why I was unsuccessfull. This one is few months old. This one is not so well known because this is absolutely not mainstream.

So then I've tried to make lyrics by myself. Yeah, tried, because their voices are beautiful, synchronised and they sounds good, but this singing is not so clear. And fast pace also takes its toll.
I've made concept, something I've heard clearly (and lyrics makes sense [another problem in these lyrics, they doesn't make much sense in normal way of this word]), something I think I heard and sometimes, there are dots, like I didn't recognize the word.
Because of uniqueness of this project, I think it's good to complete them. I though about someone, who is native speaker, has this album and can help me. Again, do you have some suggestion, or do you think, I'll success at all ? :-) you know, I'm new here and I don't know people, only one is you. Barely.

Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, nice music.

Could this be elaborated, perhaps by M@X or a site admin? I don't understand in what way editing one's review could spoil anything.

Could an alternative solution be to allow people to make changes to ratings and reviews as their views evolve, but that such changes must be approved after they are submitted by an admin who automatically gets all changes in a separate feed? That would be more flexible for the users. (I suppose the bad apples are easily identifiable, so that this wouldn't demand too many resources.)
