This may be a stupid question, but I thought I might as well ask anyway.
Is there any way in Audacity to edit an audio track so that it gradually shifts its channel from left to right, rather than being confined to just one location on the speakers? |

Yeah, It took me a long time to figure out that as well. Whenever in recording, I always thought to myself "Damnit, I wish i could shift the sound to different speakers"
But it helps a lot in the recording process to know these kinds of things

I think Audacity gets a bad rap sometimes because it's freeware, but in all honesty, as long as it functions the way a good recording program should, it shouldn;t matter what specific one you use, if you know what you are doing.
I think Audacity is a perfectly decent substitute for the more high-end stuff out there.

Yeah, Audacity is also good for bands that cannot go to high-priced studios and such. (Hence why i use it to record) It gives you a ton of capabilities to alter your music and makes it malleable to the way you want it to be. I Love it!

Cubase and Cakewalk have entry level versions that let you do almost everything the expensive versions do, with rather superficial limitations.
