Also check out the Who's Next Deluxe Edition. A great 2 CD set with an entire second disc of live Who. Its from one of their live shows at the Young Vic Theater, featuring many of the songs found on Who's Next (a great document of Lifehouse era Who).
Its quite pricey for a physical copy (around $30) but I got mine off Itunes for only $9.99.The sound quality of the original material is a better than the '95 Remaster and the extra live songs are excellent. And I am thoroughly enjoying myself as disc 1 has just finished... |
Raff had it so when we combined our CD collections.. my old 'standard' CD edition when to pay for other CD's hahhah. I agree... those live Young Vic tracks are standout... then again.. it is the Who we are talking about... the gold standard for all time of what a band can be in the live setting... for us... a 2nd listen to The Hazards of Love... very first impressions... can see why some old time Decemberists fans might have been turned off this album.

oh it is very good.... it's just preference for me. I just have a real ...thing for his 70's albums.. and when I feel like a change-up.. I go for his more accessible 80's albums.. which really are quite something... not exactly prog... but not exactly pop... it is that grey area that makes them so damn interesting to me.

Since I haven't been able to get my hands on Win, Lose or Draw I have found a stream of 'High Falls' online, listening to it now, sounds and looks like a live version (27 minutes). I'm liking what I'm hearing! Thanks for the suggestion Micky

oh no... I enjoy the hell out of early PT ....SIgnify for example is a album I love.probably in my top 50 albums... I just don't see the allure of their later career turn.. and honestly thought their last album was a real dud.
