Better than being even I suppose

I wish, I just suddenly thought I hadn't been in the shed for AGES, just wanted to check you were all still alive!

Me too - every now and again it's good to get away from the grand parade of lifeless packaging that is the customer base for 20th Century Fox, & indulge in a bit of Shed-time

WH Smiths, it has to be a main branch, (not a train station mini) It's a steep £7.99, BUT I've spent £4 or £5 on mags before for one or two articles I find relevant, so, to be fair I think it's GREAT value......... it gives us proggies a voice in the glossies, it's a bumper packed prog extravaganza of yumminess!
(yes, I was pleased with my purchase! ha ha ha!)

That's a biased opinion Rach!
I got it yesterday but have only had time to glance through it so far. Popped into HMV just before and got complemented on my taste in CDs (Insurgentes and the new Mastodon).

As I had a day off yesterday I decided to brave a trip to Ikea. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to buy something that you've already seen on their web page, especially when they don't have it on display, but I managed to do the whole thing in under an hour (including the 10 minutes it took me to find the tills). Got the cabinet home, built the whole thing in a few hours, then when assembling the last drawer I found I had the wrong size (one of those round screwy things you put in holes and turn to lock, whatever they're called) left as I'd used the wrong one right at the start. After 10 minutes spent deciding whether to undo the whole thing or take a hammer to it, I managed to get the screwy thing out with a bendy screwdriver. Phew.

well yes ......................... but the rest of the mag was pretty cool! It's not all Nick! ha ha ha! some other folk got a look in too! I think I am biased, because ultimately if this takes off it can only mean good for bands and punters alike, and that I do have a big interest in. I know Jerry has put his nuts on the line for this, and I know how many he needs to sell to keep it going so anything I can do to push it I will! ----I think of all the times I've paid 4 quid or so for a mag with one or two ickle articlettes of interest and suddenly £8 for a WHOLE mag of interest don't seem too bad! Really, how many times have I spent cash on a thick glossy full of utter twaddle for a small few lines somewhere.......... It's a nice thing to read with my cuppa and rich tea biccies!

BTW all - re next Friday - has anyone spoken to Sigod or Blacksword at all; Blackie hardly ever comes in here these days, so I'd hate for him to miss out & Si's always good company too
Rach - if you're free next Friday (and the bearded one?) & fancy coming along, I'm sure Vicky and I can put you up.
