I tell my kids, there is metal, and there is rap, but there is no such thing as metal-rap, ha ha, I can do that cos I'm the teacher, ha ha.

For me the vocals/vocalist totally ruins Limp Bizkit.
Cut the vocals out of the equation and you had a surprisingly creative band, believe it or not. Their (former) guitarist Wes Borland is actually far more proficient than many people realize and has done some pretty creative and unique stuff.

I love Nate Dogg, great voice clever lyrics and even a bit lately from Kanye West

Very proudly own George Michael's OLDER album. A masterpiece of modern music.

Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Welcome To The Pleasuredome - brilliant 80's stuff!!

Once upon a time I owned Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavoured Water, and if I remember correctly, especially the song Hot Dog had some brilliantly tasty guitarwork. All in all I think it was a very fine album at first, like some Korn and Papa Roach albums I also had at the time, but I grew very bored of them very soon. Still like a song or two from time to time, though.

I can't really top (bottom?) the musical choices from the last few pages of this thread, but in terms of general embarrassing pleasures you have nothing on me.

Put simply, I used to love WWF-style wrestling and would still watch it regualrly if my local cable operator carried it.

As well as all the prog, I'm a big fan of both Enya & Gloria Estefan - dunno whether that would be considered to be embarassing or not.

You rock, ChrisClap! I have always had a think for Frankie, and I LOVE their song "Welcome to the Pleasuredome" - which is even prog-related, seen as Steve Howe plays steel guitar on it, and the subject matter is the same as Rush's "Xanadu".

I used to like pretty embarrasing stuff like Linkin Park & Limp Bizkit. But those albums are all sold now.
I guess the most "Embarrasing" songs i like is:
  • Orup - Stockholm, Min Mor sa till mig, Hellre Jagad av Vargar (Swedish Pop that's disturbingly catchy Embarrassed)
  • Kent - Pretty much all of their songs i've heard, but most notably: En Himmelsk Drog, FF, Vinter Nolltvå, Columbus & Ingenting (Swedish Indie-rock. Surprisingly interesting)
  • Anna Ternheim - What have i Done, Shoreline, No i don't remember (Swedish singer/songwriter pop/rock. I LOVE her voice and melancholic songs)
  • Kraftwerk - Radioactivity, Trans Europe Express, The Man Machine, Computer World (Needs no presentation. Listen to them very rarely, but they're really good when i'm in the mood!)

My guiltiest pleasure would probably be Shaggy. His songs are so wonderfully silly.

Love Celine.  Also (and I'm not ashamed to admit it) I have all of Hanson's major-labrel records, from "Middle Of Nowhere" to "The Walk".  Also love Phil Collins' output.  Some of the best pop/rock songwriting ever, right there.

I've got The Black Parade... and a very senior member of PA has recommended The Black Parade is Dead to me.

So there's at least three of us!

Actually while I hate their image I really dig this album - tho my 17-year-old metalhead son claims it's all down to production and session musicians and flatly refuses to listen to it.
It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.

MCR would be an okay depressive rock band if it wasn't for their singer. His style is unintentionally hilarious, like a parody of Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins.

My most embarrasing music is probably Magma, because I really really give off the idea to people that its the greatest band ever and the first thing people hear are nonsense vocals so really it is embarrasing listening to that when people are close.

His style is influenced by Queen, so I'm pretty sure its intentionally theatrical.
Also, The Black Parade is actually a really sweet album. It's a little weak in the second half and it drags in the middle but its actually a lot more than the straight emo stuff they had in previous albums.

Does Cat Stevens count as embarrassing? I quite like Tea For The Tillerman...

Cat Stevens is far from embarrassing - he's a damn fine artist.

The only album I own that I'm embarrassed to admit too is Parachutes, but then I don't actually like it, so that's not really the same. Coal Chamber ... just owning that is pretty embarrassing, even if I only played it once.

Owning albums by the Opera Babes, Sarah Brightman, Enya, Donna Summer, Buck's Fizz, Smokie, ABC, Spandau Ballet, Human League, Duran Duran, Wrathchild, HIM, Limp Bisquit, Mushroomhead, the entire Sweet, T.Rex, MCR, Toyah and Gary Numan discographies, don't embarrass me one bit.Approve
What?
