But what you're really interested in is BRUTAL METAL, and it's pretty obvious by your last.fm charts. It wasn't an insult. ;-)

Hey, none of the bands in my top 5 list are even death metal, and one is a post hardcore band.
And The Mars Volta is in 17th place okay, SO ITS NOT ALL METAL.
No, but the only thing that comes close to jazz is KAYO DOT. And since all metal/post-hardcore sounds THE SAME TO ME I don't care for your distinction! ;-)

KoS, you should listen to Ornette Coleman, avant-prog can wait. SHAPE OF MOTHERf**kING JAZZ TO COME!

Gah, why is it I always find the orchestral version of Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in C-Sharp Minor?

I want the piano version.  Grrr!

I've not read that one yet.

All I've read is all five Hitch Hiker's and the first Dirk Gently.

You need to understand a little about Samuel Taylor Coleridge to understand it. Wink

It does exist.

They use it on Stella Artois adverts and I've heard it on the radio.

Indeed.

'tisn't especially metal though.

A wonderful album, however.

I'd be inclined to move them to heavy prog or maybe post-rock.  However, I've only listened to this album, their others maybe heavier.

Well, we'll see.
I'll give them a listen and if anything comes up that makes me think maybe they should be moved, I'll discuss it with the team.
One of the PMT members is a PRT member as well, which makes that process easier.

It's one of those albums that starts off mellow, gets heavy in the middle and then becomes mellow at the end.

So measuring it's metal percentage isn't easy.
