I'm not even done with my first listen and I'm very, very impressed. Take the vocal style and compositional sensibilities of Van der Graaf Generator. Mesh them with some Black Sabbath
inspired guitar riffs. Now stir in a slew of classic and modern
eclectic prog influences. There's so much stuff in here it's dizzying
(they just worked in a trumpet, flute and car horn) but
somehow it all fits and blends incredibly well. It doesn't sound
like a patchwork of styles and comes across as a seamless, original
sound. It's dark, heavy, brooding and on top if it all it freaking
rocks. Think of a heavier Matthew Parmenter but more intense and varied.
