I'm gunna skip on the thread too. I didn't make a newb thread when I first joined and I won't make a 10K thread now. I'm a rebel, dammit!

I didn't make a newb thread because I didn't notice it until I'd been a member for like six months.  Disapprove

Clap awesome album. I can't wait for Blood Big smile - I'm also trying to find a way to interview the bugger.

Right now I'm just chilling to some Beatles and not looking forward to work in... t-minus 4 hours

I found out Blood has Akerfeldt appearing on one of the songs, so that got me pretty excited.LOL

I'm only on the third track, but I can tell how some people think there are some similarities between this and Stupid Dream/In Absentia-era PT.

I always compare it to Tool if anything (or people around me do, anyways). It also helps that Steven Wilson is on shutDOWN.

Yeah, there is some Tool-esque stuff on here too. But despite the mix of influences, it still sounds really unique.

And yeah, I can't wait until I get to ShutDOWN. Wilson is probably one of my favorite modern prog vocalists.

not my favorite song on the album, I much prefer the opening suite (see - The Thing That Never Was) and Hello Helicopter, which is probably my favorite tune from the album.

Well thank god I got the edition with the bonus tracks, because I'd have no idea what you were talking about when you mentioned The Thing That Never Was.LOL

I'm also wondering what this Floyd cover is going to sound like. Should be fairly interesting.

The Floyd cover is actually amazing. The Thing That Never Was is basically the first songs up until "Head" as one long instrumental suite. I think they were meant to be an epic.
