Steve
according to the Peel Myspace page you can get advance tickets or pay on the door. You can normally get in okay on the night. I'll email Mr Godfrey and see what he thinks. I'll definitely be there if I can get a ticket. |

If I'm in London I'll make it along to this one - I have a habit of missing Tinyfish gigs which I really must break!

We're hoping to get along to this also
I've spent 6 months saying "we'll do that when the warmer weather comes".........................I am begining to run out of time aren't I ? Ach, ah well, we'll probably spend the next 6 months saying "we'll save that to do at the end of the summer" |

Well done Lee Trying to resist that first cut (actually not looking bad at the moment, January's snow appears to have slowed down the spring wake-up) as I know as soon as I do the first cut, it begins the cycle again & that's me for the summer... "Borders re-edged and gullied.Proper job" "Proper job" Lee - fancy coming up to ours again one weekend...? One fine & dry weekend...? |

I spent quite an enjoyable weekend in our herb garden (née: dandelion patch) weeding, trimming, sorting out what goes, what stays and what needs replacing ... I'll probably be growing basil and parsley in a grow-bag as we get through more of that stuff than the garden can provide. I looked at the fern bed (2 Stewart Grobag trays filled with compost) - that doesn't look too healthy at the moment, I'll wait until the weather is a lot warmer before disturbing them - I've relocated it twice since moving into this house but I can't seem to find the ideal spot for it.
Mow the grass? Nah, I'll wait a little longer - I've yet to hear the first 'lawnmower of spring' around these parts.

Our bearded dragon, Dylan loves them... but no Dean, that's not a request for a delivery (unless you deliver in person, then we could go for a pint)

I would have waited a week or two but the next couple of weekends are booked so I thought that I'd strike whilst the iron was...er...mild. |

O, such a perfect day.
A bit of sun, good music on my Walkman and finished digging a new veg patch. The soil is a bit clayey but I mangaed to tease out the grass/weeds - compost for next year - and with a bit of last year's compost managed to get a fairly friable soil. And just to get the growing urge under control I planted some autumn fruiting raspberries. Probably won't get too much this year but we'll see, otherwise it'll be next year - provided they take.
Might do some broad beans tomorrow, I think they are hardy enough.

Aha - this explains why The Shed's been so quiet this last couple of days - everyone's outside enjoying the sunshine & doing gardening - personally, I'm hoping this current sunny/warm spell continues atleast until Sunday, so I can start clearing the beds nearest the house in preparation for some work starting (weather permitting) in May.
Checked the lawns last night & they're still pretty short (mind you, I did mow them to within an inch of their lives in November) so no need to begin that particular cycle yet. |

Incidentally & apropos of nothing - has anyone else noticed the similarity between Bernie Eccleston & Andy Warhol?

Strewth, am I knac- sorry tired after another digging session. Still can't complain. A very nice day, birds twittering, even saw a butterfly an hour ago. Didn't get my beans in but decided to do some work on the compost heap, mmm nice. Who needs a gym membership? On the theme of the above I see that the F1 championship is going to be decided by the number of wins. This is as a result of drivers doing the bare minimum to get the points they need. Surely this system is equally flawed as the top drivers will go all out at the beginning of the season, get a few wins under their belts then throttle back cos no one will be able to catch them. But then what do I know??

^Its one of those increasingly common events of the last few years, a Max and/or Bernie decision that has the F1 fan community fully united in complete loathing of the decision and the men behind it.
The "optional" £30m budget cap that was announced at the same time is another example. Should this be moved to the ranting room? |
