What would be your timeline for Psychedelic rock or it's early stages?
Here is a timeline that I found.

1965?? Lawdy Miss Clawdy am I feeling old. Assuming the dates are correct, it's a decent if obvious list.

I like the timeline and I did not know that the Creation used a violin bow before Led Zeppelin. You learn something new everyday.

They're missing an early recorded guitar freakout by Hendrix with the Isleys in about 65 I think.

I have not heard Seventh Sons but Jefferson Airplane Takes Off is a folk rock album. Frank Zappa was experimental rock artist who detested psychedelic rock.

I respect your opinion on Takes Off but disagree.
Zappa may have detested psychedelic rock, nonetheless Freak Out is full of psychedelic rock both in terms of the UK type (Syd Barrett) and the US type (Byrds, Jefferson Airplane).

Freak Out is experimental rock IMO and it influenced many musicians but I never saw it as psychedelic. I always viewed "Who Are the Brain Police? and” The Return of the Son of Monster Magnet” with the later being like a much better version of what the Beatles did on "What’s the New Mary Jane". You have a good point though. I think Jefferson Airplane Takes Off is basically folk-rock then if you class that is psychedelic than I would say "Norwegian Wood" is psychedelic?

I would definitely consider Jefferson Airplane Takes off psychedelic rock. It has the folk element, but HP Lovecraft sounds very folky, and they're a psych band if I've ever heard one. And Frank Zappa seemed to detest a bunch of things similar to what he was, and once again I would consider many of his albums psych rock. Psychedelic rock is in itself very experiemental, so I don't know where you're going with that.

Cool Timeline. I think Freak Out deserves to be somewhere on there, however.
