My Top Ten, in no particular order: (Mouse-over the art for the artist/album title if you don't know it or can't read it.)

Yes - Relayer

Gentle Giant - Free Hand

Dream Theater - Awake

Epica - The Divine Conspiracy

Atheist - Elements

Falconer - Among Beggars And Thieves

Coheed And Cambria - Good Apollo Im Burning Star IV, Volume 2: No World For Tomorrow

Rush - Test For Echo

Opeth - Blackwater Park

3 - The End Is Begun

And now, a couple of "honorable mentions:"

Casualties Of Applied Metaphysics - In Anima

Edifus - Septum

(Honorable Mentions NOT to be taken seriously as nominations for Greatest Album Art Ever.)

1. Anubis Gate - Andromeda Unchained

2. Redemption - The Origins of Ruin

3. Seventh Wonder - Mercy Falls

4. Riverside - Schizophrenic Prayer

5. Therion - Lemuria

That's it for now, there are a lot of other covers I love - Pendragon's starting from The Masquerade Overture for example, and many others. I will post them when they come to mind.

Clap  Great album, great cover!  Subtlety in capturing a moment.
...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

Not a proper list, but I decided to post these here.  Aren't they excellent?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but you'd need to put a double barrelled shotgun to my head to agree to most of these on here, regarded as beautiful.

Tangerine Dream had more than a few excellent album covers, BSS was superb, Roger Deans stuff was great, Pink Floyd had a few beauties. Some Klaus Schulze stuff was impressive, but one of my favourites was Dave Greensalde's The Pentatecuh of the Cosmogony.

Rush, Traffic and similar et al were minging.
