The same kind of maniac that voted "crunchy" in this poll. |

It's essentially a thick paste made by putting peanuts without the shell in a food processor and sometimes adding oil. Crunchy peanut butter has extra bits of peanuts mixed in with the paste while smooth does not. If peanut butter is so rare in Hungary, I doubt peanuts are any different. If you can, however come across peanuts, I recommend making some peanut butter . The typical way to eat peanut butter, at least in the United States is to make a peanut butter and fruit jelly/jam/preserves sandwich. |

Obviously if you're going to have PEANUT butter, you want to know there are indeed nuts in it. Crunchy the hell outta that stuff! EXTREME CRUNCH. ALL NATURAL. The only way to go.

This thread is careening out of control and if it continues its present course, could start a chain reaction that destroys PA. Peanut butter? No, the downfall of a beloved institution. Is that what you want?!
sorry, carry on |

Thank you for the answer! This is not only rare here, I've never seen something like that in Hungary, but if I remember well I've already heard the name (the Hungarian word is a mirror translation of the English) in some cartoons when I was a young boy. If I can get peanut in the spring, I'll definitely try it.

Is that what I want? IS THAT WHAT I WANT?! Of course it is. I want nothing other than this. I have come from the future and I know what kind of hell the PA/PB war has wrought on humanity. It tore my family apart, made me deaf and took my tongue. Now I can neither taste PB or listen to prog. |

I could make a few comments that would argue for either smooth or crunchy but I don't want to push the borders of the site rules. |

Where's the "crunchy peanut butter is the proof of Satan's existence" option? Edited by June - March 17 2009 at 19:39 |

Not so much crunchy as the things that make the peanut butter crunchy. |
