I've discovered that the only people who really play bass properly are ones who learn the bass as an instrument separate from guitar. You can be a bassist and a guitarist, but not the other way around.

there's people who play bass as a simple rhythm, and then there's guys like Squire, Lee and Reingold who play it to kick ass.
