Love early Chicago. Seems they utilized Robert Lamm's vocals more back then. To my ears, he's my favorite vocalist of the lot.

Yeah I particularly enjoy their earlier records and haven't really listened to anything after VII. Terry Kath's accidental death also probably contributed to the pop direction they took from the mid to late 70's on. For what its worth I think CTA is one of the greatest statements by a rock guitarist, plus I love the roughness of his vocals ('In the Country' from II and 'Introduction' from CTA are incredible)
