My favorite store used to have some boxes of $1 cassette tapes (I found Yes "Fragile" and Rainbow "Down to Earth" there). But i can't find them anymore.
Now they just have cassettes with crappy unknown 90's bands, still shrinkwrapped. They've been there for years.

I have about 250 vinyl records, but about 50-100 are ones I don't care for that I got for free.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I don't know how's the situation there in Europe (or in your country, Sweden, am I right?), but here in Argentina is much easier and cheaper to get (when we're talking about ol' school prog rock, or 70's music in general) vinyls instead of CDs. That's because many vinyls were released in my country during that time, and nowadays you can get those at even two or three dollars. Sadly, many of those albums which are available on vynil, weren't released in my country on CD, so as you can imagine the majority of the CDs of the music we listen here (in this site) are imported, and it's usual to see some CDs at 30 or 50 dollars! Unfortunately, I don't have the vinyl player my dad used to have, but he still has his vinyl collection (with lots of Genesis!), though they aren't played since the end of the 90s. So, what's the situation right there? Is it the exact opposite? Are vinyls considered as "gems"? |

Here's our wall of sound. Missing are six big piles of new purchases that are still lying in front of me on the computer table. |

I'm envious of these collections. I only have like 90 CDs and a bunch of vinyls (30 i think) that I got for free. Mostly just random rock ones and some Rush and one Camel one.

And you're right on all of them. Good job spotting the Camels, they're not really very recognizable from such a blurred picture. http://muusikoiden.net/levylista/selaa.php?list_id=4528&letter=* If you're interested, there's a list of everything I own, excluding the non-music dvd's. With Friends and Simpsons there's also all The Black Adder episodes, everything by Monty Python, Coupling, Poirot, Scrubs and some miscellaneous movies On that list all the categories and other babble are in Finnish, but other than that it's very understandable. I actually have never bought an LP, CD, 8 track or cassete in my whole life and actually can`t even stand music at all. All the reviews and band bios I`ve ever written here were written by my dogs and pet budgies.
( I seriously hope nobody believes this it`s just that can`t figure out how to post pictures ) |

My dogs and budgies actually helped.
My collection actually looks like the salt flats after the blast. Disorder, confusion, mayhem, scatter, clutter. |
