Now if they'd swapped War with a studio version of No More Songs or The Ottawa Song, the album would be much better.

And ended it with a superb 7 or 8 minute version of The March. Big smile

Just add on No More Songs, Ottawa Song, AND The March.

Then it's even better. Big smile

No.

I like my albums to be about 45 to 50 minutes in length.

Discard the trite and rather short War and stick in No More Songs as an opener.  Remove Morning Star and stick in The March.  Although you'd have to rename Beginning: The Long March. Confused

Or you could just keep IPOL how it is: perfect. Wink

Nope.

Oh, I've managed to "acquire" the Hodgkinson 1990s versions of all the Henry Cow albums (besides Western Culture, 'cause it's the same). Big smile  I shall be comparing them to the ReR remasters at some point.

yep I was getting really sick of Kinisky and Justice and that sort of stuff so I linked my faves to them. I showed them "I Lost my Head" by gentle giant too haha

also I made some bossa-nova-ish party music for the NES. :3 anyone know how to play back an .NSF file?

Is that NES extension?  I'm guessing something like NESCube might be able to play music separately.

it just stands for NES Sound Format. i always love it when acronyms contain acronyms of their own. :3 all emulators should be able to play it, i only used the five standard channels.

So Howe got a 2 in the end. Shame too, since I really wanted to like that album. Play Bambi music at me, will you! Angry

I'm only sticking around until IPoL ends. So you'd better make good use of your time with me

I've downloaded a cool WinAMP NSF plugin and it's working fine.

Excellent tune as usual, Lappy!

cool :) the first real dance song since Rapa City!

there's a guy who makes emulatable advertisements for chiptune gigs in his area and I gave him that to use in one. I don't know if he actually will, but it was a fun song to make. four to the floor beats, how unprog o:)

Hahaha.  Indeed.

Another contemporary UK chiptune artist is Pixelh8, who has performed for Apple Inc. iTunes and BBC Radio 1 at the Maida Vale Studios and has designed chiptune software for the likes of Imogen Heap and Damon Albarn.

Oooh, I bet Damon used that on that Olympics tune he did with Gorillaz.

Not quite the same but I've seen Leafcutter John use MAX/MSP with the band Polar Bear.  He actually uses a PS controller to control it.

By the way, did you listen to that tune I mentioned the other day?  I think it was by Video-Aventures.

I prefer their second release but it's their debut from 1979 that had the chip-tune-esque track on it.

'tis a shame that Alex didn't believe me when I said Xanadu by ELO/Olivia Newton-John was Henry Cow related.  Oh well.
