Topic: Camel v ELP polls Posted: March 07 2009 at 06:02 |
Given that we've had several of these, how many more will be needed before crimson87 (and Micky for that matter) FINALLY twig that more people like Camel than ELP??

We need many more of these polls to coax the huge armies of ELP fanatics out of hiding. Lets face it Camel may win the polls, but ELP outsold Camel by a very large margin. Maybe many of their fans regard them as a guilty pleasure, these days..!!
Long live the prog ship of the desert.. !

This should probably be in the "general" section, since it's about polls, not prog.

Agreed. And crimson87 only started one poll. All of this began early in 2008 when I had my Ultimate Prog Tournament... and it seems to be all that people mainly remember of it.

See how it works??? Loads of Yes/Genesis polls are created every day , but it takes JUST one ELP poll to start an interesting debate and get the attention of the whole site. Average bands don't do that man!
Hey , is there a TFTO appreciation thread out there?? That's my favourite Yes record

they are out there... just like we found them with TFTO.. that album was laughed at around here before the TFTO appreciation society got founded. Now it hangs within shouting distance of the most beloved prog album on the site. Give us a few more years... we'll bring the old ELP fans out of the wordwork... and more importantly... convert the kiddies to seeing that easy-listening prog to be taken with your milk and cookies is nice... but it is much more fun and interesting to have prog to be taken with trashing the house and irritating the hell out of the neighbors with ungodly grunts and squels from an abused Moog synthesizer hahaha.
long live thePA's border war that is ELP v. Camel...

only if kiddies are interested in this major step, i personaly like Camel more, it is more melodic, easy listening , smooth. the paraphrase with milk and cookies was . it's a matter of choice. not that i don't like elp , but they have some wild moments. synthesizers madly driven melodies

I like both bands. Both have their strengths and flaws.
