Great choices with the Miles, Trane, and Mingus albums. But perhaps you want to find another forum; there's like 5 prog albums on your whole list. Just kidding. Wink

Anyway, looking forward to the results.

Well...

1. I've got other forums
2. those other forums don't have STC
3. just because my top 150 isn't filled with prog doesn't mean I don't like the genre (just that there aren't more than five or so prog albums that deserve to make anyone's top 150)

Hey now! Angry

Anyway, your list contains loads of records that I currently have on my mental wishlist, seeing as I am in the process of seriously branching out into the indie and electronic/ambient world atm. Until now I've kinda only dipped my toes in them waters...

Oh, and the newest Animal Collective record is mighty good (in fact I'm totally hooked on it) but personally I wouldn't be able to place such a fresh album on a list like this. Having said that, I have a feeling it could very well inhabit a slot in my all time top fifty at some point in the future Smile

Well it was partly a joke, but also it reflects the fact that there is so much great music beyond prog that really, no top 150 list should have more than 5-15 albums from any genre.

As for Animal Collective, what can I say, I just love it.  Check out the AC appreciation thread in General Music Discussion.
