It's the worse-kept secret of the Gothic world - it is never advertised and the press are not invited. Attendance is limited to 1000 people due to the venue - tickets sell out within days of issue and accommodation is nigh on impossible to get since most Goths pre-book hotels, apartments and B&Bs a year in advance - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitby_gothic_weekend

Just had an audio meeting - apparently our bit of RBS has to save £2.5 billion over the next few years. So far the hand towels in the toilets have gone and the free flavoured water is going soon. Next step will the addition of a coin slot on the coffee machine. One of our guys was accosted by a member of the public outside the building the other day and asked what he was doing about the RBS share price.
Thanks again Sir Fred.

Kentish Times headline 'Shocked townsfolk were taken aback when hordes of ghoulish looking Goths* decended upon the seaside town of Whitstable after a typo was made in the publication The Gothic Times. One elderly person was heard to say, ' I thought my great-aunt, Maud had risen from the grave.I had to have a cup of strong 'tea' to calm my nerves. Mr Grimondly-Fiendish, the editor of The Gothic Times apologised whole-heartedly.' *A 'Youth'cult Edited by Man Erg - March 06 2009 at 07:54 |

Yeah, hilarious but they are not Goths, they's spooky kids.
Now, this is slightly more amusing:
"Victor Meldrew" and 4 Goths in a Morris Minor Estate drive around Whitby (from a recent BBC programme):
just after that clip, Mike (with the mohican hair sitting in the back), has to take over the driving from Richard Wilson so they can continue on to the Abbey.

Ah yes. They had a memorial to Sophie Lancaster at the last event, I believe. A worthy cause too. |

The way things are going for Heston Blumenthal, it looks like Fat Duck is going to become a piece of rhyming slang.

We had our very own "Fat Duck" in Perivale, it was a Kebab shop featured on TV's Life of Grime as being one of the worst catering establishments after many complaints - though no official cause has been found causing the Fat Duck's problems, i really didn't like the look of those snails...

Well let's face it, they haven't had a hit since 'Lost Weekend' and even that sounded suspiciously like The Passenger by Iggy Pop. Nationalisation is the only answer - you'll get a free copy of Rattlesnakes if you open an account with Llloyds Bank....

Well, they split up sometime in the late Cretaceous although Mr Cole is still soldiering on and recently released a box set. I believe you get a free copy if you open a deposit account and put £5000 in. If you open an account at RBS you get a free "I hate Fred the Shred" mug and a dartboard with a picture of him on the bullseye.
And the 25.
And the 20, 19, 18 etc etc.
Just so you can't miss.
