File Under Popular. Someone described it as "a stirring antidote to contemporary pop cynicism", which I think would be interesting coming from him. It also appears that ReR started a publishing house just for that book, but it's out of print now, so who knows what's going on. He also wrote a fascinating piece lamenting the term avant-garde. Basically, he argues that if anything can be art if Michael Duchamp's Fountain is art, and if 4'33" has made all sound music, what is the usefulness of continuing to use the term?

But they exist as a band of people, not as one singular person

I disagree. The band is one singular entity.
Pain of Salvation is a progressive metal band.
The members of Pain of Salvation are each very interesting.
One is referring to a singular whole, the other to multiple individual parts.

Correct

Correct

However, your last point is incorrect.

Pain of Salvation is good.

No.

Pain of Salvation are good.

Yes.

Daniel Gildenlow is good.

Yes.

Daniel Gildenlow are good.

No.

Simple.

A band consists of members.  So you speak about a band as a group of band members, not as a single entity.
