Surely it would be more British to send one's servant to do the survey for one

"Jenkins, you're going outside, and I daresay you may be some time...

...so make me a cup of tea and a hot water bottle before you go"

She'll never last. We all know women have to have the central heating on at ridiculous degrees Centigrade throughout the year.

Jim, is there any more room in your hiding place?

No, that is shed-speak - we're all of an age here when we remember their old punky days, the 'Boy' and 'War' albums, their initial stadium days (Red Rocks, anyone - remember the white flag??), the storming performance at Live Aid, the descent into self parody, the darkness caused by their having their heads firmly where the sun doesn't shine, & their current slow re-ascent to the light of day.

Bono's still a bit of an arse though...

Many, many years ago (1981) whilst home from Uni for the weekend I was a little surprised to hear the sound of U2 blasting 11 o'clock Tick Tock with surprising clarity from the next village. Quickly realising that they had made an unannounced and unscheduled visit to the Greenbelt Christian rock festival, we jumped in the car and raced over there (free entry for locals Approve) to catch the major part of their sadly brief set.

What?

Technically, yes, as they carry the seeds inside the cone/flower; so a nice cup of hop tea, then?

S'funny you should say that, Dean.

Around 1981/2 when I had just moved away from Deptford S.E. London, I thought that I'd pay a visit to the Deptford Summer Music Festival. We were all awaiting performances from various members of Squeeze,Alternative TV,Here and Now, Misty in Roots, Fabulous Poodles etc. when, unanounced, New Order took the stage for a brief set.
They cheered us up with rousing renditions of In a Lonely Place,Everythings Gone Green and Ceremony...Ah! thems were the days

Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

they explained that on "Grow Your Own Drugs" last night, (then technically, strawberries are not a fruit)

Must admit I too watched that programme - that's half an hour of my life I'll never get back, but at least I now know how to make my own laxatives

The BBC really are running out of programme ideas, aren't they?

Good suggestions there. Everyone of which is better than The Colour of Money. (What! No emoticons for puke?) I have just recovered, having listened to some of last Saturday's drivel.
