After Pink Floyd, I would say these 4 robots are my favorite band of all time. They were WAY ahead of their time, and their influence cannot be ignored. Heck, the music they wrote 30 years ago still sounds futuristic!
What do you all think of them?

micky loves him some Kraftwerk... it was futuristic then.. and yep.. still sounds that way today.

They are single-handedly responsible for the advent of synth/pop, electronica and techno-dance-trance-house etc...They simply simplified the TDream/Schulze electronic prog , by adding more dance oriented beats and presto! A new genre and era were born. I am very partial to Belgian stalwarts Telex , who simlarly blew the lid off synthesized music and made it accessible and "fun" ! "Ralf & Florian" remains a masterpiece of progressive music, no question!

If you like Kraftwerk so much, have you heard of John Foxx, formerly of Ultravox!, another genius of future sound , try the tune "Metal Beat" , it sounds like a 2109 release!

The fisr two are amazing "Metamatic" and the s/t are superb, "The Garden" and the "Golden Section" are both a bit more accessible but still mesmerizing stuff! At least I have a fond admiration for it. Got to share, ya never know!

I don't like Kraftwerk since I've first heard them in the beginning of the 80s. Too non-human and mechanical. I understand they are innovative and influental, but not my cup of tea at all.

I find Kraftwerk's music to be warm, romantic and very charming. Not cold. Their unconditional love for everything new, modern and electronic seems almost naive now (not as in unintelligent). Their first three are closer to Krautrock.
I think every album from the debut til Computer World are brilliant (Electric Cafe is pretty good too). Some of their classics are just as essential as Seargent Pepper or In the Court.

Kraftwerk will be the support act for Radiohead in Mexico City, i am really curious to see them on stage i am sure it will be a unique experience, i like their music, not the biggest fan but i really appreciate some of their album

Anyone who thinks electronic music lacks emotion should listen to 'Computer Love' by Kraftwerk. It has reduced me to tears on more than one occasion.
I'd also recommend that people check out the early Kraftwerk material, massively different to what made them famous. 'Ruckzuck' is a work of wonderment.

I love Kraftwerk. A very interesting album as well is the album of all 8-bit music remakes of Kraftwerk songs.

Yep, it's called 8-Bit Operaters- A Tribute To Kraftwerk, released in 2007. It's pretty cool, it makes you feel like your playing a Kraftwerk NES game. I don't know how popular it is, somebody I used to work with showed it to me when it was released and I've never heard anything about it since.
