While listening this gorgeous album:
The only thought that comes to my mind is "OMG, this must be some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard in my life". I know this isn't exactly the most challenging album you can find, or the most complex or any other cold adjective, but one thing is clear for me: this album is beautiful. And that cover... Please, mention those prog albums that mean something similar to you Who said Harmonium? Some more PFM maybe? Discuss... |

This is not my beautiful house...

yes it has happened to me several times, when i listen to an album and i say it is just beautiful music...
The Snow Goose is an example that pd like to mention, when i listen to it that feeling of beautiful music comes to me immediately.
other example, LocandaDelle Fate or Isildurs Bane

My fave is Hero and Heroine by the Strawbs, beautiful cover, gorgeous music, splendid mellotron, colossal themes, emotional voice, surreal clean production (for the times) . Willowglass' Book of Hours is not far behind with For Your Pleasure by Roxy Music in the tail end.

The Art of Navigating by the Stars by Sieges Even is one such album for me. Just Beautiful Prog metal. Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden is another.

The three Renaissance albums from Ashes to Scheherazade, Bacamarte's Depois Do Fim, PFM's Per Un Amico, Le Orme's Uommo Di Pezza, that Harmonium album (though honestly I don't personally dig these last three much!), Steve Hillage's Fish Rising, Pink Floyd's Meddle (though Seamus disrupts the beauty with a loud bark!) and many more.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

2008's "Saena" from SAENA is sheer beauty to me, a refurbished type of symphonic prog that feels very creative, intense, emotional... and beautiful, indeed.

Fellow prog fans tend to disagree, but Genesis' From Genesis To Revelation strikes me as a beautiful album. It's not aggressive or complex at all, but it's all just calm, nice music.
I personally don't think it's better than others, but it is certainly more beautiful. |
