What type of forum do you prefer??

This might seem kind of pointless, but I'm very curious about this topic. I was on Gamespot.com once, and there were over 2000 members online. In my mind that just gets out of hand, and you never feel like you know anyone on the forums. That is why I love PA so much!

So do you prefer small or larger forums?

0-10, preferably all STC members.

One forum I go on, Sevenstring.org, regularly has over 150 people online, but has at times had over 1000 people on there.
The only people that don't make friends there, are idiots. Anyone with half a brain can figure out how to make contacts and friends by posting the right stuff and making the PMs to the right people.
I've only been there since last September, but already found people that were willing to give me discounts on things they had for sale, even had guys invite me to come and jam with them (although due to distance I could never make it).
Despite it's massive size, it's extremely well moderated too, which is a massive plus, and all the mods there are extremely friendly, down to earth guys.
I spent a fair amount of time there, possible more than I do PA (although I post way less at SS.org though) and I tend to get all my music news relating to metal and guitar news from there.
An extremely supportive forum board and community, I love it.

The other forum board I spent a fair amount of time on, is Seymourduncan.com/forums, but I found making friends there not as easy despite having been there since February 2008, but I made a few.
I've only got about 1500 posts there, so again, I don't post a heck of a lot there, but I've learn a sh*t ton about guitars just from going there over the last 12 months.
It tends to average 25-50 online members at once, so it's not too chaotic.

Really, those 2 and PA are the only ones I devote regular time to.

I used to go to the Dreamtheaterforum.org forum board, but I stopped logging in after about one week, and every now and then, maybe once a month, I lurk to remind myself why it's such a boring place and the fanboys ruined the experience completely.
Pretty big numbers there, but it's easy to feel alienated there.

I go to the Ibanez guitar forum from time to time, I've maybe posted 90 in the last 12 months, but you rarely seem to get more than 5 people online at once.
I lurk a few other forum boards, maybe for half an hour at most per day, but never felt the need to register and post on them.

I may as well just vote over 1000, since I think it makes for something cool.

Doesn't really matter. Only thing that does is minimizing the time new members spend being n00bs, and creating the same threads over and over again.

I definitely prefer a small, but consistent group of people ... I don't like huge forums at all.

True, but sometimes less is more. Huge forums can get really annoying (and so can small ones).
